I was one of the attendees for FurDU 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Gold Coast (11 - 15 May 2023), and I was very pleasantly surprised about my time at the hotel itself. Once I got to the hotel, I went to reception, took a little while to check in, the staff were very friendly and quite helpful. They explained to me some of the key features of the hotel itself, also the fact that I was one of their club members or something, and that I had free internet throughout my stay - which was a bonus - hardly ever used it though. As I walked back to the lift I checked my room number - which had a bit of significance with myself (give you a clue: the angelic number). To get to your floor, just simply tap the card on the scanner, then press the floor, only took a matter of seconds before I reached mine, and not long before I had finally let myself into my room. The room itself was absolutely beautiful, as I placed my bags down I took a quick tour of the room to see what amenities I had. The bathroom was quite spacious, a rather large shower and plenty of towels etc (which came in handy). As I'd spent a long trip getting up to the hotel I was a bit on the sweaty side, so I got a quick change of clothes, had a quick shower (make sure the door clicks all the way in - otherwise you'll end up flooding the bathroom floor which is what I ALMOST did). (There's so much positive stuff to write about the hotel - so I'll keep it short) The bed itself, quite spacious, the pillows themselves were plenty enough, I found that I got a good night's sleep, and in the morning went down had some breakfast - a great selection to choose from, be it from hot food, to pastries, cereal and even fruit and yoghurt. Relish (the restaurant) takes care of breakfast in the morning, plenty of space to sit, have as much as you want to eat for breakfast and get out again. Dinners were absolutely amazing, same spot, the staff were quite friendly, very quick to take my order (had the chicken parmi one night, the burger the next), and a beer or two to drink. The next night I went to the restaurant - I pretty much got the same spot where I sat last time, the wait staff even remembered what kind of beer I had from the night before ... now THAT'S impressive, also one aspect about service that I really enjoyed. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, so much so I honestly cannot wait to return next year to experience it all over again .. In all honesty there's nothing at all I can fault the hotel for .. a full 5 * review from all aspects of the hotel, the staff, the food and beverage and everything they've got to offer. So, if you're looking for a place to stay, be it for a short trip away, or a longer vacation, depends on what you're doing, be it visiting the theme parks or the local attractions, I would, without hesitation, highly recommend your stay at the Crowne Plaza Surfer's Paradise, try and get a room with a high floor facing the beach as the views

The best thing about this hotel is its location. How fantastically close it is to the Cavill Avenue shopping street. There's even a Woolworths in the mall right below the hotel. Basically, you can get any food and necessities within 5 minutes of walking by the seashore. I haven't had the opportunity to try out the hotel facilities which from my seaview balcony I noticed that there was a tennis court and an outdoor pool. The hotel is a bit old though, since it's probably renovated from the previous owner, signs of wear and tear do show in some corners, but it doesn't impact the overall living experience much in this spacious room. Thankfully they gave us a room over 25 floors above ground with nice sea view. Would definitely choose this hotel again if I have the precious chance to visit the Gold Coast again based on how great this hotel offers with its reasonable price (Other major hotels by the seafront are very costly during Australia's summer month of December).

Stayed recently during the week so no noise from Cali beach club next door. In fact perfectly quiet once balcony door was shut. But hey, your in Surfers Paradise so you can't expect absolute silence. Rooms were a bit in need of a paint but so what. It was immaculately clean, smelt lovely and was cheap as well. Bathroom amenities smelt beautiful. Big containers of shampoo and conditioner and body lotion and bath gel/ hand wash. I didn't have to use any of my own supplies except toothpaste and toothbrush. The girls on reception were extremely kind and welcoming. I would definitely stay again.

Peppers's apartments have always been my target (actually under Accor). I have only experienced them once in New Zealand's Lake Tekapo in all these years, and I have never forgotten them. The interior of Peppers this time is still the same as my impression many years ago, and I was not disappointed. Location: It is right on the beachfront of Surfers Paradise, close to the beach, five minutes walk to the light rail, and three minutes to the nearest WWS supermarket; WWS in the circle is also five or six minutes away, and there is also a Coles within ten minutes' walk; downstairs is the commercial center, with all kinds of food and drinks; next to it is the Hilton / Ochard where I stayed last time
Facilities: The kitchen facilities are relatively complete and new, very easy to use, with a full set of stoves, refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, microwaves, and other equipment, including washing machines and dryers (see the pictures); just for this kitchen, I plan to cook in the house every day these days. The various semi-finished products in the supermarket are very convenient. I go out to buy them every day and bring them upstairs to cook directly. My teammates said that the scenery of the sea view restaurant outside is not as good as the first-line sea view without obstruction in our room. Room: I booked a one-bedroom apartment, about 120mm, but it is actually a three-bedroom apartment with the other two locked up. The balcony is very large, with a large dining table on the balcony, facing east, suitable for watching the sunrise in the morning, and hiding from the sun and watching the sea on the balcony in the afternoon; the master bedroom has a 1.8-bedroom bed (I asked about this and it cannot be separated into twin beds), the bathroom design is relatively reasonable, with a large walk-in closet, and relatively separated from the bedroom. The large window in the bathroom allows you to soak in the spa and watch the sea view; the living room and the master bedroom are also relatively independent, and you can move around independently in the living room with the door closed; open sea view kitchen
Service: Serviced apartment with lobby, daily cleaning service available, public indoor and outdoor swimming pools, rooftop garden, barbecue facilities, gym, restaurant and other public facilities

The hotel is full of families with children.
The hotel's internal facilities and rooms are relatively old, but quite hygienic. The bed is moderately hard and does not cause back pain when sleeping. If you have trouble sleeping, remember to tell the hotel in advance not to book a room near the road.
There are some activities for children in the hotel, such as skating and laser guns, which need to be booked online in advance. If you book on the day of check-in, the seats are likely to be full.
The hotel's parking spaces must be booked in advance, 20 dollars a day. There is also an open-air parking lot less than 100 meters away from the hotel, which charges cheaper.
There is a young man who speaks Chinese at the front desk of the hotel. His service attitude is particularly good and he also delayed our check-out. Five stars for his service!
In general, the check-in experience is good, mainly because the children have fun and can play for a day without leaving the hotel.

It's getting incredibly expensive to stay in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Budget options are severely limited, and inevitably you will have to make sacrifices. But if you're looking for decent accomodation that won't break the bank, this property has a lot going for it. It's definitely an older type building, and doesn't attempt to compete with the glittering modern skyscrapers constantly springing up along this coastal *****, but its location is unbeatable. Right across the road from the beach, and barely 5 minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of Cavill Avenue, yet once you're inside the apar**ent, you never feel like you're in the thick if it, and there's virtually no noise disturbance, so the best of both worlds really. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff friendly, and parking is free - another bonus that is rapidly dying out! There is also a nice pool, sauna/steam facilities, games room and small gym. And so to those compromises - There's no in-room laundry facilities, no dishwasher, and I think this is the only hotel room I've ever seen anywhere in Australia without aircon. (ceiling fans only) More of an observation than a criticism, but we only stayed for one night so it didn't really affect us. It could have been potentially problematic for a longer stay, especially in hot weather, so worth thinking about. Overall, I found Chateau Beachside excellent value and a pleasant place to stay for a short-medium visit. If you are realistic about what you can expect at this price point, you will definitely not be disappointed.

We stayed at the JW Marriott in June 2022 for a family vacation. Cons: The first night I woke every hour from the bed as it was extremely uncomfortable and hurt my back. I could feel the springs and woke up in pain. The next day they put a mattress topper on it which made it bearable but still the worst bed i have slept in in a hotel. I stripped the bed one night as my son had an accident and was disgusted to find the mattress looked old, dirty and sunken in. It really let down the whole room (which was otherwise gorgeous). I had ordered loose balloons for my Mother in laws birthday for her room upon arrival. These were just dumped in the room in a bunch and not actually untied losing the effect and making it a waste of money. Pros: The pool area is amazing, the cocktails are great and the whirl pool is warm enough to swim in even in winter! The pool with the fish was slightly cooler but I am told still heated. There are waiters that will bring your drinks to you and take your order. The sandy area is great for toddlers. Food & Drink at Chapter & Verse is amazing and the service was great. Misono is well worth a visit and was our highlight! Buffett breakfast has everything you could want however I have stayed at another Marriott hotel that allowed you to order your eggs to order. This would be a welcome addition here. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Shout out to Robert, Georgia and Johnathan. We had connecting rooms which was awesome but the door does open outwards and take up a lot of room in the small hallway. If you are not a member of Bonvoy it is well worth joining up at the beginning of your trip. Overall it is a beautiful hotel and we would return, however the bedding situation really let it down and needs to be upgraded.

Excellent
QQuan SunSuper convenient for families. Free tickets to theme parks, good value.
The sound insulation between floors is not great. If upstairs travellers are froma different timezone, good luck. However kids can only be active for one hour or two in the evening after all, definitely not a concern.
SSteven HeHeHeThe view was good from even level 10. The only issues are
1. The maintenance of the room facilities seems to be less proactive. When we checked in, the door lock plate on the side of the door was already half falling. There was a crack on the second bath room shower head. The wifi never worked with the pin provided. The living room aircon got the guiding plate dangling. The battery door of the main bedroom TV remote control was falling off. The sink was blocked in the main bathroom.
2. The resort got a “no room service on Sunday unless you book it the day before” policy. We checked in on Saturday but no one asked us if we wanted room service on Sunday upon checking in.
GGuest UserThe room and views were amazing. Property very clean, spacious and overall lovely property. The only problem was a howling wind that rattled the sliding door that kept us awake all night. We put a pillow up against the glass door, we opened the glass door slightly, but nothing stopped the noise. We advised on check out and we were told ”sorry” that's it. No offer of a $50 discount- nothing. $1000 for 2 nights accommodation with one night without sleep....
FFroggygirl22My children booked my partner and I a night in a Superior twin room for my birthday. From arrival the service we received was fantastic. I was offered a complimentary mimosa whilst checking in and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable with ample room and updated modern decor. The beds were very comfortable and we had great views from the 9th floor within walking distance to the heart of Surfers Paradise - a block from Cavill Ave.
I rate this 5 stars however their were a couple of small issues - you need to book for onsite parking which unfortunately we were not when my son did our booking. However their is parking right next door for around $15 per day. The other issue was our sliding door wouldn’t lock after returning to our room after dinner. Minor issues but full disclosure on our stay. Overall I would highly recommend staying at The Island again!
GGuest UserI've stayed Down Under before and it was horrible so I switched to this one. When I got to the hotel, it felt like a resort in comparison. Individual private beds, decks, pools/jacuzzis, etc. Not too loud, not too quiet. People here are very social. One part of my journey was a bit out of order and they left me behind. I was so pissed off and the lady at the front desk helped me to call them and help me arrange a lot of new things for the next 2 days. She even helped me book a trip to the next city I was going to soon. She works a lot and still gives me a lot of attention. I don't know how to beat this hotel.
GGuest UserWas staying for my brother’s wedding which was in the ballroom. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was amazing, the view, the furniture and the cleanliness was all top quality. I’ll definitely come back to stay here again so I can experience it outside the craziness of the wedding.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a 3 bed unit with our 3 grown kids and there was plenty of room for all of us. The extra bathroom was a complete bonus. Would have received 5 stars if the spa outside had been heated and if there had been security screens on the windows so we could leave them open. Great BBQ area and quietened down nicely at night. Pool is shaded during some of the day so able to extend our swimming time during the day. Easy walk to the beach and to the light rail stop.
GGuest UserOverall good feeling
Advantages:
1. Very clean, the room infrastructure is relatively complete, and the room is also very new.
2. The room is large, with a large balcony, kitchen, living room, two rooms, and two bathrooms.
3. There are many restaurants downstairs, the hotel is very close to the beach, and there is a tram station nearby, with convenient transportation.
4. You can use all the facilities and equipment of the Hilton Hotel, such as swimming pool, gym, etc.
Disadvantages:
1. There is no 24-hour front desk service, and there are only office staff from 10am to 5pm. It will be difficult to contact them if you have something. For example, I forgot to take a plug cord this time. I contacted them through Ctrip at 3 pm local time, but the front desk did not respond until late the next morning. However, the items had been cleaned, so the whole service was very delayed and inconvenient. (This is the main problem)
2. There is an additional cleaning fee of 158 Australian dollars before check-in, which is not cheap when combined with the hotel fee.
3. Breakfast is not included. Of course, you can also eat nearby. There are many restaurants nearby, which is not a big problem.
4. The quilt provided is a bit thin, so you may need to pay attention to this if you go there in winter. You can ask the customer service if there are any spare ones before booking a hotel.
GGuest UserWe booked a last minute trip to QLD as we needed to use a Jetstar credit. This was the only hotel that was available for 3ppl for under $2k for 6nights during peak period. Location: It is in a good spot being only a 20min walk to Cavill and 5min to the beach. The Room: Was very spacious with a nice view from the balcony. Large bathroom and living space but that is where it ends. The rooms are not serviced and if you like one you will have to pay and also pay for more towels, toilet paper, sheets etc. The room we got said it had 1 large queen bed, we ended up getting 1 double and 1 single bed. The Kmart furniture was wobbly and unstable and had no interior design flow. The walls were all banged up with scuff marks and dints. The bathroom walls had dust all over them and patches that were not even painted. The carpet is old and smelt, so did the couch and the pillows which were once white need to go! The aircon was dirty and needed a clean and the swing function was broken and did not work. The tiles and caulking in the bathroom were mouldy and separating as it was obvious that it was poorly done. I also would have appreciated having more than 2 rolls of 1 ply toilet paper for a 6 day stay. The hotel: The reception was open and spacious offering drink and snacks for sale. Also the reception staff were helpful and friendly with each interaction. The pool looked great and was large offering a kids section and a sand pit. The downfall was that the tiles in the kids section in the pool were missing and some pavers around the pool were loose and/or missing. This could be dangerous for unsupervised children. There looks like there was a restaurant downstairs but looked shut down and out of business which is a shame! With the hotel as it is I don’t think I would recommend this place to anyone unless they do some major upgrades and change the day to day operations. This place was not worth the money.
