This is a nice hotel, very clean and new, smart rooms, very lovely staff. Bed was comfy. Partial view of the harbour from my room on the 18th floor - I could see sections of water between buildings. The lighting in the bathroom is terrible if you need to put on some make up, and I'm not really a fan of showers with no door, but that seems to be the trend and they are minor quibbles.

I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). This is an experience!!! The room was perfect and large and comfortable. We did animal view room with a great Koala just feet from us. So cool. The tour of the sanctuary was so fun and the perfect length in time. Having continual access to the zoo was great and we did sections a little at a time as we were coming and going. The breakfast was really nice for an included breakfast. The views are excellent. Utilizing the bus and ferry to go back and forth to Sydney was simple and easy. I don't know if we will make it back to Sydney, but if we do, we will absolutely be staying here again.

Good location which is nearby my client office that i needed to get to within walking distance. Walkable to most places. Room is modernised but toilet is old, dingy and a bit dirty to be honest. Hair strands on the bath tub upon arrival and everyday (mine excluded) which is a put off. Daily housekeeping is only to replenish drinks and bed making. I shed my long hair and they are all over the toilet and bedroom floors. On last night, i found a face cloth i used the previous day with makeup stains refolded and put back onto toilet counter top as if it was new... Breakfast spread is delectable with ability to bring coffee to-go esp if you ate in a hurry in the morning.

We recently stayed at a hotel that perfectly suited our family needs! Located right in the heart of the CBD, it was close to everywhere we needed to be. The nearby supermarket and restaurants made dining and shopping convenient. The staff were incredibly helpful especially Sir Jandro, the hotel manager and Ms Arglie, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a centrally located hotel with excellent service!!

We stayed for two nights at the end of May. Our room was quiet & clean even if in need of a refurbish, which presumably, going by the building works going on, is in progress. The building works didn't impinge on our stay at all. Our breakfast (which was included in our room rate), was surprisingly good. The area it was served in was very clean and bright. We found all the staff to be pleasant. Being able to checkin & checkout on line made things move quicker, especially the checkout. The cost of accommodation in the city is very high so we were pleased that Song Hotel was a bit more affordable to us.

Pros: Convenient location. Ad hoc request for items are delivered in a timely manner. Staffs are friendly. Cons: Non existence room cleaning. Daily room cleaning service only make the bed and many times the items are not replaced or replenished (tea bags, lotion, doesn’t watch cups, clearly doesn’t vacuum either as crumbs will remain on the floor).

Loved Room 504. Spacious,for an inner-city hotel. Loved the lights,and how the floor light comes on when you step into the bathroom! Beautiful bathroom. Refillable toiletries. Loved the the little seat/table at the foot of the bed and the lovely mantelpiece. Love how no plastic bags are used in the wastepaper baskets. Thank you for the upgrade,bottle of wine for our anniversary and the late check-out (2.00pm!) Most generous! Delicious dinner and breakfast in Bar Morris - what a gorgeous space! Impeccable service from the wait staff - friendly and professional. A perfect staycation!

Wouldn’t recommend. Have stayed at nicer hostels in Sydney. There wasn’t great bathroom facilities - not enough toilets or showers for the capacity. There was a severe lack of sinks which I didn’t realise would be such an issue but is! The bathrooms were often dirty and not cleaned regularly. There was a lack of toilet paper constantly. The bed was uncomfortable and pillow was hard. Beds were very loud to get in and out of so felt like I was waking everyone in the room whenever I needed the bathroom. The staff were fine but not overly helpful. On check in we weren’t advised where the kitchen or lounge area was, or what the check out protocol was. When we checked out the staff never advised us what to do with the bed linen. Location was grand for Sydney, a bit further out but wasn’t really a hinderance. There was good public transport. For reference I have stayed at two other Sydney hostels, and plenty of hostels up and down the east coast.

The hotel location is good. It is very close to Central Station. The room was huge. But the lighting for the work desk was so dim. You may need extra concentration if you need to work. Since the room was very long, it would be a bit of distance to watch TV from the bed.
