Amazing
JJiaoxilaoshiThis is by far the best onsen hotel I've ever stayed in! It's located around Jozankei town, with a shuttle bus service from Sapporo, making it very private and quiet. The room is spacious enough, and the private onsen is excellent – my skin felt so smooth after a soak. The bedding was comfortable, and the pillows were quite high-tech. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a healing view of the snowy landscape, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a raccoon! The service was top-notch, patient and enthusiastic. I have to rave about the food at this hotel; the Italian dinner was incredible, every dish was superb, using seasonal local ingredients and beautifully presented. After dinner, you can even take some rice balls, desserts, and drinks back to your room. The hotel has a smoking room and vending machines, so you don't have to worry about going hungry. I'd love to come back again in the summer if I get the chance.
GGuest UserI loved Nukumori No Yado Furukawa! I was an American solo traveler, but my wife is Japanese (we have 2 boys), so I am very familiar with Japanese culture. I wanted to go to a place that Japanese people would love, not a tourist-focused place. From the moment I entered, the service was excellent. I was greeted, checked in quickly, then accompanied to my room for explanations of how everything operates. My room was very comfortable. The facilities, including bath area, foot soaking areas, lobby, lounges, etc. - were all clean and comfortable. The lounge next to the lobby was a cozy place to relax, and most of the lounges included food and drink during at least some point of the day. I visited in mid-October so the leaves were changing color and the temperature outside was crisp but not too cold. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. I hope to return again with the rest of my family. Highly recommended!
CCaifujiankanggaojingzhizichanpeizhizhuanjiaThe room was large and clean, and the hot spring facilities were excellent with a huge space. Dinner offered a wide variety of dishes, including unlimited domestic Japanese wagyu beef grilled fresh on the spot. For the same amount of steak, I would pay 10,000 yen for just 6 small pieces at Hokkai-En Yakiniku in Niseko town. The pizzas were also made to order. They even poured champagne from a brand new bottle into clean glasses for us. And the price was very reasonable; I even wondered if there was a mistake in the bill, haha! 😄
DDamengThe room facilities are a bit old, but the Japanese do an excellent job with hotel maintenance, so the accommodation environment is still acceptable. We booked two rooms and were assigned 101/102, the innermost rooms on the lowest floor. After staying for three days, we noticed that all the guests on the first floor were Chinese, while Japanese and Western guests were on the higher floors (7th-8th). Even though the first floor is also on a hillside, it still felt a bit like we were being treated differently. The English proficiency of the front desk staff is limited, so be prepared with a translation app for check-in or when you need assistance; it will make things faster and more efficient. There's a lounge that always offers coffee and ice cream desserts, which is nice, and the kids loved it.
GGuest UserThis onsen hotel is definitely worth the price. The environment and hygiene are excellent, and the room layout is fantastic. The yukata was the most comfortable I wore during my Hokkaido trip. The service was absolutely superb, especially the proprietress at the Kaiseki restaurant, Shoan. She was incredibly elegant and generous, giving us an authentic and meticulous Japanese service experience. The private onsen with a fee had average views. The outdoor public onsen was closed on the day of my stay due to cold weather. The indoor onsen, for a hotel of this price point, was quite ordinary. Therefore, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the onsen experience. All in all, while it might not be exceptionally surprising, this is a hotel that's well worth its price.
GGuest UserThis hotel was the biggest disappointment of our entire hot spring resort trip. We specifically stayed two extra nights in Jozankei to stay at this hotel because of its high ratings. However, it was the least recommended hotel of the trip. The hotel is quite small, the rooms are very old, and our room on the first floor with an outdoor hot spring felt like a basement. The room was dimly lit, and the bathroom was dark. The carpet felt extremely dirty. Overall, the reviews seemed inflated. However, this hotel was also the most attentive among the kaiseki meals we had during the trip, so my review is mixed. I hope for a fairer and more impartial review. If the hotel sees these reviews, I hope they can improve the condition of the rooms on the first floor and the lighting in the public areas. Finally, I must mention the welcoming gentleman was truly professional and touching. Because we arrived early and couldn't check in, we needed to find a coffee shop. He not only patiently explained the situation but also personally led us to the intersection in the heavy snow, explaining the features of each restaurant in the vicinity. Very thoughtful!
GGuest UserIt was pretty good. The view from the 24th floor was excellent, and the public bath was larger than the Dormy Inn I stayed at before. The triple room was also very nice. Although the 0.9-meter-wide bed was a bit narrow for my 14-year-old, he didn't mind, and I prefer us all sleeping together, as it helps us bond more with him. The only hassle was the air conditioning was too hot; I suggest they not turn it off completely but instead set it to the lowest temperature of 18 degrees.
MMCKohMy stay at Jozankei View Hotel was fantastic. The hotel has a very tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a hot spring resort. The dinner quality was a pleasant surprise; the sashimi and sweet shrimp were incredibly fresh, and the beef was delicious. For breakfast, the seafood donburi was also amazing and very satisfying. The onsen facilities were spacious and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing soak. Overall, the service, food, and environment were excellent. It was a very satisfying hot spring hotel experience and definitely worth recommending.
GGuest UserWhen I checked in, I received Chateraise Baumkuchen. The hospitality felt truly luxurious, like a proper hotel experience. The spa was spacious, and the open-air bath in the snow was absolutely amazing.
The breakfast buffet had a great variety, and the desserts and ice cream were the same delicious Chateraise products you'd buy in their stores – I ate so much!
I'd love to visit again in the summer when the outdoor pool is open.
