Serenity resort
Amazing hotel - would highly recommend staying here.
We stayed at serenity resort for 2 nights on arriving at Koh Chang from Bangkok. The location is so so idyllic and relaxing, absolutely beautiful. We also stayed on the west side of the island for a couple of nights and while it is quieter on the east side of the island (ie, there is no point in leaving the resort in the evening as there is nothing really to do on the east side after dark) this is exactly what we were after.
The staff could not be more helpful and accommodating. Food and drinks at the restaurant were great and reasonably priced. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely view.
As other reviews have said, if you are staying here you will likely want your own transport so you can explore. We rented a moped from the resort at a very reasonable price. If you want to rent a car make sure you have an intl driving permit (takes a few mins to obtain but must do whilst in the UK). There’s barely any traffic on this side of the island so the drive down to long beach at the south of the island felt very safe on a moped despite the hills (and would be the same in a car). The resort staff recommended us to do this and then get kayaks over to Koh ngam, which we did and was a great experience!
The other option is to rent a taxi for a day (we were quoted c2500 baht for 6 hours) and they can drop you wherever you like and wait for you.
Thanks again for a lovely stay at serenity resort!!

A Tropical Paradise with World-Class Service!
We recently stayed at The Aiyapura, and it was hands-down one of the best resort experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the staff was amazing—always attentive, smiling, and ready to help with a ”can-do” attitude.
The resort itself is absolutely beautiful and sits right on the beach, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. A few highlights from our stay:
• Dining: The food was delicious! Every meal exceeded our expectations.
• Amenities: Everything was top-notch and well-maintained.
• Logistics: Their shuttle service is the best—super convenient and always on time.
If you are looking for a perfect getaway with great vibes and excellent service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay at Sylvan Koh Chang and truly enjoyed every moment.
The resort is beautiful and full of little surprises. Every corner is stunning, surrounded by nature and beautiful frangipani flowers. The scent of fresh frangipani around the swimming pool was absolutely wonderful and made the whole stay feel even more special.
The staff were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive. They kindly prepared a lovely towel birthday cake for my partner with fresh frangipani flowers, which was such a sweet and memorable surprise.
During breakfast, we even saw a huge bird nearby, which was a unique and memorable experience.
One of our most unforgettable moments was walking back along the beach at night after dinner. The sky was full of stars, and we even saw a shooting star. It felt magical and romantic.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay filled with beautiful memories. We would definitely love to come back again and highly recommend this resort to couples looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

Anonymous UserThe overall experience was alright, but the facilities need some care. The water park is old and some of the slides are breaking down, they don’t look safe. The hotel is divided in two areas, one across the road and one by the beach. If you are staying across the road you can’t use the pool from the beach side, which is a bummer and a big downside. Would check other places first.

Guest UserThe hotel is good, and the location is convenient, with shops, excellent cafes, plenty of massage parlors, and bike rentals nearby. The room was spacious, modern, and excellent, with everything needed in both the room and the bathroom. The safe was present and worked perfectly. The 50-meter swimming pool was wonderfully clean, with comfortable sun loungers and daybeds. There was live music some evenings, and a beautiful view of the shore.
Downsides:
1. The breakfast buffet was rather meager compared to typical Thai options at hotels of a similar standard and price. For fruits, there was only watermelon and occasionally papaya. As for vegetables, there weren't even cherry tomatoes. There were no salads at all, and no seafood either. Over the course of a week, fish in batter was served only once.
2. The air conditioning was very noisy, but it cooled the room excellently.

Анна ОрловаWe stayed at Paradise Villa, first with my 12-year-old child, and then my husband joined us. The hotel claims to be 5-star, but it's absolutely not; at best, it's 3.5-star. The service is mediocre at best.
Let's start with the villa. The renovation clearly isn't new, but the villa is spacious. The pillows and mattress are comfortable, and the linen is good. However, there are no power outlets near the bed, which is very strange and inconvenient. There's no master switch to turn off all the lights; you have to manually switch off lights in the bathroom, wardrobe, and bedroom. There's a terrace with a table and two soft cushions, but no backrests, making it really uncomfortable to sit. There's also a drying rack for swimwear and two sun loungers. The beach access from the villa is obstructed by bushes, likely due to wind. We didn't have direct beach access; we had to walk through another villa via a broken concrete slab and a lot of trash.
Room cleaning is very mediocre.
They only left three 0.5L bottles of water for the villa when we were two people. This wasn't enough! We used it for brushing our teeth too. They added two more bottles when my husband arrived.
The hotel grounds are green and seem to be maintained, but there's a general sense of untidiness.
There's ongoing renovation in a new block near the reception, with drilling and hammering starting at 7:30 AM. It's unclear how people are living in the nearby building, but we didn't hear anything because we were far away and the sound of the surf was loud.
There are three pools: a large main one, a small private one, and a pool in a neighboring building across the road.
Breakfasts are very meager, pretty much the same food every day. We stayed for a week, and after three days, we had no appetite for it anymore. There were four types of fruit, which varied, but you won't see any fresh juices here. My daughter wanted to make a Caesar salad for breakfast and add mayonnaise, which was on display but looked awful, covered in a crust. The next day, we specifically checked, and nothing had changed. Surprisingly, the coffee wasn't bad.
We had lunch at the main restaurant a few times. The dishes were good, but we waited a long time, even though the restaurant was empty.
The reception is a whole other story. I repeatedly informed them that my husband would be arriving and we needed an extra bed for the child. In the end, they forgot, and I had to call reception again. However, they didn't forget to charge me, and even asked me to pay before my husband arrived. I, of course, said I would pay at check-in.
The only positive for us was the beach: long, wide, and good for walks at low tide, with cafes where you could order drinks. During a storm, there was so much trash on the beach, it was a dismal sight: fishing hooks, glass bottles, and huge piles of plastic, no exaggeration. They only started cleaning up the next day.
Another plus is the location, with a 7/11 convenience store, restaurants, massage places, and a currency exchange right after the hotel.

Pros: The accommodation has a pleasant, shady, quiet atmosphere with beautiful decor.
Cons:
1. The accommodation was unprepared for guests' arrival (the air conditioner was turned on to cool the room for about 30 minutes but still wasn't cold; it turned out the refrigerant was empty, and staff had to call a technician to refill it. I believe the accommodation should check everything before guests arrive).
2. Some staff members were impolite. The heavier-set staff member wearing glasses, when informed about the air conditioning issue, responded with a tone and words that suggested a lack of experience in customer service. Their choice of words felt odd even during check-in and when being escorted to the room. For example, they said, 'We have to walk again. Let's go. I recommend not booking rooms far inside; it's a long walk' (even though I didn't choose the room when booking; the system assigned it. Even if it was meant as a joke, why say 'we have to walk again'? It's part of your job, and the customer hasn't even complained yet).
This happened several times, leaving a bad first impression from the moment I parked the car, was shown to the room, and inquired about the air conditioner.
However, the other 2-3 staff members I encountered spoke normally and provided lovely service. I was only unimpressed by the heavier-set person wearing glasses. I hope their behavior, demeanor, speech, and tone of voice can be improved, as their way of speaking was grating.

Amidee
This hotel is situated over the water with stilts, which I loved. Its unique appearance, with all its natural wood flooring and decks adds to its charm and feel of the fishing community. It’s a terrific place to stay for some great Thai Seafood!
The VIP rooms are recommended as they are spacious and have a lovely outside space to relax over looking the water. They also have plenty of windows and natural lighting. These rooms are very comfortable.
It has a restaurant attached to it, also over the water on stilts, which serves fantastic, fresh sea food dishes! My favorite meals was the barracuda with sweet and sour sauce and the calamari. They are good sized meals and their fresh juices are also perfect for the heat!
Aoys farm bakery and cafe is also very close by. If you go to your left of the entrance to this hotel you will see the sign for her cafe and bakery. Aoy makes the most delicious cakes that are supplied to many hotels and businesses on the island! Highly recommend going to see her charming cafe and bakery! It’s a short walk and great for fantastic breakfasts and fresh juices or warm drinks, if you don’t want sea food at the resort, go there!
The pool is lovely, as the water below the hotel is not clean and we did not want to swim in it. There are other beach locations for swimming.
You can hire a fishing rod and do some DIY fishing, or pay for fishing half or full day trips, hire bikes, and kayaks. I was satisfied with this location and would certainly consider staying there again for a night or two!

Lily PhuuFirst of all, I would sincerely would like to say Thank You So Much for your service and we enjoyed our stay at your hotel. Everything about hotel is extremely good and we couldn't find the best suitable words to describe it. Location, cleanliness, foods, friendly helpful staffs and quiet environment everything is great. The most satisfying service is the helpfulness of the staffs in transportation processes and they can handle every request. We would like to give 9stars and it should be 10 if the price of breakfast buffet were a little less compared to the variety of foods displayed.
