"The night view was great. The two ladies at the front desk were incredibly kind and patient. However, the bathroom wasn't very clean; the toilet was a bit dirty, probably because it's not a new hotel. Also, the outdoor table in the view room was dusty. The water was very hot, and the mini-fridge didn't work. Everything else was pretty good."

"I first heard about this place on Instagram and thought it was so beautiful. Its incredible structure is just as gorgeous when you see it in person. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. It was so cool because they had a machine that translates different languages depending on what you speak. This was the first time I’d ever seen anything like it and found it very helpful as I don’t speak Mandarin. Breakfast isn’t included but you can purchase their set meals for 37 yuan and have it while looking out at the beautiful courtyard. If you need train station transfer, you can easily ask for it for 80 yuan per way which made my check in and check out process smooth. They also allow you to try on their cultural costumes for free. If you need hair, makeup and photography services than it’s 499 yuan. As a solo traveler, I decided to try it out. They were very nice, however I definitely struggled with the very white makeup since I myself am very tanned. In their defense they did their best with trying to give me something darker and in the makeup room it seemed fine. But with the different lighting outside and the camera flash, when I got my pictures back I basically had a ghost face 😞 The foundation also wasn’t applied to my neck and arms, so it was very apparent. I’ve asked the photographer to help standardize my skin so hopefully that helps whenever it’s done. You receive a total of 9 retouches photos as part of the package. However, if you prefer to do your own makeup or are traveling with others then they can take pictures for you instead. The place is very convenient for finding restaurants and if you’re primary goal is the visit the old town. It’s very close by, so I was able to explore easily and then return to the hotel for breaks when needed. Lastly, you can use their laundry machines and get laundry pellets for free. Ideally this is great. But I will say the drying part is dreadful. The instructions say to do the 2/3 rule. However, even when I followed and put a small batch of clothes in it never dried. I tried once for 1.5 hours, then again for another hour, and still nothing. That was probably the only real part that was frustrating."

"The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the property was well-maintained and tidy. The mattress was very comfortable, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to shopping, dining, and other necessities. One suggestion would be to include the hotel's Chinese address on booking platforms, as it could make it easier for Chinese-speaking travelers to use ride-hailing services. Overall, the hotel was very quiet and provided a comfortable and relaxing stay."

"We will be back! This felt like a home away from home, except it had such a wonderful view of the lake. The host was super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, close to the railway station, which was very handy for us as we came over from Kunming and then went back. You're close to many of the central places and with DiDi taxi, it's super easy to get around from here. We will for sure book here again; we're already planning a visit back."

"The Honglongjing branch in Dali Ancient City is absolutely amazing! 📍 The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Honglongjing Pedestrian Street. Step outside and you're greeted by a gently flowing stream, and you can look up to see the Cangshan mountains. It's just a few minutes' walk to Fuxing Road, the main street, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. 🏡 The ambiance is perfect! The Bai ethnic architectural style blends seamlessly with modern design. The courtyard with its flowing water, flagstone paths, and red lanterns makes every photo Instagram-worthy. At night, when the lights come on, the atmosphere is simply magical, giving off a 'Spirited Away' kind of dreaminess. 💁 The service is incredibly thoughtful! The staff are warm and professional, proactively offering tips on nearby attractions and local delicacies. Their attention to detail really shines through, like providing local snacks and complimentary tea. 🍽️ The overall experience is fantastic! Whether it's the comfortable rooms, the aromatic coffee at the cafe, or the authentic Bai cuisine at the restaurant, everything leaves a lasting impression. It offers excellent value for money. I'll definitely be back to Dali and stay here again next time! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"

"I've been to Dali many times, and each time I try a different guesthouse. This time, the platform recommended ”Yan Chuanshu Inn” based on my preferences, and I was drawn to it at first sight. It's located in the heart of Dali Old Town, in a relatively new area, and it's very quiet. What I absolutely loved was that the guesthouse has three adorable British Shorthair cats! Maikou is a chubby one who loves to lie on the floor and act cute. Tiechui is a Scottish Fold kitten, very clingy, and has the best personality. Gangdan is a British Blue cat, independent and very wary, lively and mischievous – as expected, you can only pet him when he's in a good mood [lol][lol]. Despite that, I still adore them, haha. My stay here was completely therapeutic because of the cats, and also because of the attentive service from the guesthouse owner. The owner has a great demeanor, and the service was impeccable. She helped me with my luggage and, knowing it was our first time exploring Dali, recommended some delicious and reasonably priced food spots in the Old Town [munch][munch]. Furthermore, the room I booked was really spacious, and the bed was huge – a Stressless brand, super comfortable! The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the overall cleanliness was excellent. The cleaning auntie tidied my room daily. The guesthouse courtyard has many flowers and plants, and the rooftop offers beautiful views of Cangshan Mountain ⛰️⛰️. I especially loved going up there in the evening. All in all, the accommodation I chose for this trip was truly wonderful. I think I'll recommend it to my friends next time～[heart][heart]"

"The room was clean and tidy. It was really cold in Dali during the May Day holiday due to the rain, but luckily the air conditioning had a heating function, which was great! It's very close to the South Gate of Dali Ancient City, about a four-minute walk. The owner was incredibly warm and friendly, helping us carry our luggage both ways. When we left, they even gave us flower cakes!"

"I frequently travel to Dali for business, and this hotel has provided me with the best experience so far. The hotel's decor and facilities are brand new, with a simple yet elegant style. It's very clean and hygienic, and the rooms are spacious with large beds. The staff are incredibly friendly and enthusiastic! Right next to the hotel is Sanyue Street, where I can grab some snacks and enjoy them with a beer in the sunken pavilion in the courtyard, all while admiring the surrounding water features – it's really pleasant. This hotel is great, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next business trip to Dali."

The experience at Dali Songyun Banshan Hotel completely surpassed what I anticipated, and I especially want to commend our dedicated butler, Kevin. His service was professional, thoughtful, and truly top-notch! Even before we arrived, Kevin proactively contacted us to confirm our itinerary, discuss our needs, and even thoughtfully advised us on the weather and what to wear. Upon arrival, he was already waiting for us at the entrance, enthusiastically helped with our luggage, and swiftly handled the check-in process. He then meticulously explained the hotel facilities and how to use the smart devices in the room. He also thoughtfully recommended his favorite local eateries and lesser-known scenic spots, and the sightseeing route he planned for us was incredibly practical. During our stay, Kevin was incredibly responsive, practically replying to messages instantly and being available whenever we needed him. When I mentioned wanting breakfast on the room's balcony, he made sure the table was set up beforehand. When I casually expressed an interest in local experiences, he helped book a cycling trip around Erhai Lake and a tie-dye workshop, arranging everything perfectly. Upon departure, Kevin pre-arranged our transport, helped with our luggage, and escorted us all the way to the entrance – so warm and considerate. The hotel itself has an exceptional environment with panoramic views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, and the facilities are of high quality. However, Kevin's service truly made this trip extra heartwarming and unforgettable. I highly recommend Songyun Banshan, and you can't go wrong asking for Butler Kevin. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Dali!"
