Guest UserThe first hotel on our Yunnan trip was absolutely fantastic! The moment we stepped into the courtyard, we were instantly charmed by the beautiful flowers and plants, and seeing the adorable cats and dogs just lifted our spirits.
The room was very clean, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, which is one of my must-haves when choosing accommodation. The bedding was super comfortable, and the bed was great for sleeping. They even had a direct drinking water dispenser in the room, which felt much safer than an electric kettle.
The guesthouse is just over a ten-minute walk to the South Gate of the ancient town. The walk back takes a few minutes longer because there's an uphill slope right before you reach the guesthouse, but if you rent a scooter, it's no problem at all. They even thoughtfully provided a foot bath tub in the room – soaking my feet after a long day was so relaxing.
The staff at the guesthouse were all young men, and they were warm and welcoming without being intrusive.
If I come back to Dali, I'll definitely choose this guesthouse again.

Anonymous UserYou can enjoy the beautiful Erhai Lake right from the hotel. The view outside is just as stunning as Longkan Wharf and the popular 'S' Bay, so there's no need to go anywhere else once you're here. There are even local photographers outside who can take great pictures. The hotel staff are excellent, and in the afternoon, they offer complimentary mini desserts like flower cakes, Pu'er wine, and a variety of beverages. The public areas are spacious, and the breakfast spread is fantastic, with both Chinese and Western options. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied!

The moment I opened the door, I was instantly wowed. The view of Erhai Lake from the room is absolutely spectacular — photos can only capture about 70% of its beauty. In person, it's a hundred times more stunning.
.
The room is extremely comfortable, with a well-designed bathroom layout featuring separate areas for the toilet, shower, and vanity, plus a beautiful soaking tub. Every amenity in the room is perfect and of very high quality — especially the toilet, which comes with both a bidet spray and a fully automatic function.
.
The bed is incredibly soft. After a full day of sightseeing on foot, I slept like a log — and a relaxing warm soak beforehand made it even better.
.
Upon arrival, afternoon tea and snacks were served, which was such a lovely way to unwind after the journey. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful in every way.
.
Breakfast includes noodle soup and congee, along with fruit, hot dogs, and yogurt.
.
The hotel also offers airport and train station transfers, which is very convenient.
.
The location is not far from attractions such as Santorini and other nearby sights.
.
For getting around Erhai Lake, renting a car to explore at your own pace is the most efficient option. If you don't have a rental, you can use Didi (ride-hailing) or take the sightseeing bus — though with the bus, you can only board and alight at designated stops.
.
One more tip: Didi is available around Erhai Lake until quite late at night and can drop you right at the hotel, so don't worry if you want to stay out a little longer before heading back.

The landlady was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly welcoming and always went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. The guesthouse was impeccably clean; I even noticed how meticulously she organized her cleaning cloths in the utility room – she clearly takes pride in her work. The courtyard was charming, and the fish looked so vibrant and lively. It truly felt like a home away from home, allowing us to relax and unwind completely. Highly recommend!

Guest UserI rarely write reviews, but I simply couldn't resist for this hotel – it's absolutely exceptional in every single aspect. The complimentary airport and train station transfers are a huge plus, and the service is incredibly warm and enthusiastic. They proactively help with all your luggage, big or small. The transfer vehicles are also very comfortable and spotless. Upon check-in, everything in the room is free except for the red wine – instant noodles, drinks, beer, water, coffee, yogurt, and Yunnan black tea are all complimentary. They bring a generous amount of fresh fruit daily, and there's 24-hour rice noodle service, which is a lifesaver for anyone not accustomed to local food; you'll never go hungry. Every evening, there's also tremella soup available. The front desk even has complimentary snacks, fruits, and flower cakes for guests to enjoy. And the room itself? Speechless. The videos and photos on their website are an exact, 1:1 representation of the actual rooms – absolutely no photo trickery. What you see is precisely what you get. The room is impeccably clean, and the array of amenities is extensive. My parents are usually quite picky about hotels, but they absolutely adored this one, praising everything from the room facilities to the balcony views and the spaciousness of the suite. They insisted that on their next trip to Dali, they must stay here again. And most importantly, the staff – from the front desk to the transfer drivers, the F&B team, the ladies who help with luggage, the gentlemen who deliver rice noodles and tremella soup at night, and the three cleaning ladies – everyone is incredibly polite, enthusiastic, and friendly. The owner of this hotel is truly fortunate to have assembled such a fantastic team. The hotel's location, combined with the suite facilities and the wonderful staff, makes for a top-tier experience. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone visiting Dali *must* stay at this hotel at least once – it's absolutely worth every penny!

Guest UserThis B&B in Shuanglang truly offers 'sea-view freedom' – I never wanted to leave!
The room's arched large window acts as a natural frame, making every photo look amazing.
The natural light in the room is wonderfully soothing, and the minimalist wooden furnishings create a cozy atmosphere. Just curling up on the window-side sofa and zoning out is incredibly therapeutic.
Opening the window reveals the Erhai Lake right before your eyes, with the water, distant mountains, and clouds spread out in a breathtaking vista.
In the afternoon, we'd set out some tea and snacks on the terrace and simply sit there, enjoying the breeze off the lake for hours, without a single worry. As evening fell, watching the sunset paint over the lake was truly magical.
Waking up naturally each day and drawing open the curtains to reveal the entire sea – now *that's* the relaxed vibe Dali should have.

Jesmine ChuaWe absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City.
The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions.
What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere.
A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of.
Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases.
For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us.
Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨

Nestled in Shuanglang Ancient Town beside Erhai Lake, this beautiful hotel's location was a pleasant surprise. Situated on Yuji Island, you can enjoy the shimmering waters of Erhai Lake from a lounge chair on the terrace – a tranquil oasis right at your doorstep. The owner was incredibly welcoming and hospitable, and the hotel is filled with thoughtfully designed gardens and charming details, including a rooftop terrace perfect for photos! Beautiful scenery, the vibrant colors of Yunnan! Thank you to the butler for the attentive service! This is my first review on Ctrip, and I genuinely think this hotel is excellent! While my experience exploring Dali Ancient City was rather lukewarm, this hotel left a lasting impression.

Guest UserBlindly picked Vanso with a friend and it turned out to be a hidden gem! The small courtyard with its lush greenery is lovely, just like having your own backyard. Perfect for relaxing, sipping coffee, and chatting. The decor is simple and gentle, the bath amenities are high-quality, and every corner is spotlessly clean. The concierge staff are incredibly friendly and approachable; they patiently gave us recommendations for local food and must-visit spots, and were always available when we needed anything. We spent a whole day holed up in our room, enjoying the peace and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and we even got a sweet treat in the evening. The value for money far exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Dali.
