Choosing Yunying Chunxiao·Shuiyuan is truly a love-filled experience. The hotel is right on the shore of Erhai Lake, offering stunning views of the sea right from your window. Enjoying the sunset in the evening and falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night is incredibly therapeutic. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a simple yet sophisticated décor and complete with smart devices, making the stay super convenient. Our butler, Ms. Su, was incredibly attentive and helpful, assisting with itinerary planning and recommending off-the-beaten-path attractions. From breakfast and evening sweet soup, the attention to detail was impeccable. The complimentary travel photography experience was also excellent; the photographer was very professional, taking photos in the public areas that turned out beautifully, and the rooftop camera position for panoramic views of Erhai Lake was absolutely stunning. If you want to experience a truly slow-paced life in Shuanglang, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

I traveled to Dali, enchanted by Cangshan and Erhai. This Southeast Asian-style hotel, tucked away in an alley in Shuanglang, brings the poetic beauty of the mountains and sea into everyday life. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer direct views of Erhai Lake and Cangshan Mountain. Waking up to see the sea of clouds embracing the mountains in the morning, and watching the sunset paint the sea in the evening—every moment is a healing masterpiece. The retro Southeast Asian aesthetics blend with Bai ethnic charm, and the exquisite soft furnishings create an immersive atmosphere, making every casual photo look high-end. The hardware is top-notch, with Dyson amenities, Marshall speakers, and high-end bathroom toiletries. The service is warm and thoughtful, with an attentive butler, breakfast, afternoon tea, and a sweet bedtime soup. Far from the hustle and bustle, lying back and relaxing here, listening to the wind and watching the sea, is the perfect way to experience a Dali vacation.

The hotel is located halfway up the mountain in Wenbi Village, where there must be hundreds of guesthouses. Since I booked on the day of check-in, there weren't many options available with a large balcony, which is my personal preference. I ended up choosing a two-day stay in a loft king room at the Qianshan.Yu Hai Hotel. I arrived around 9 PM, and the front desk offered me a free upgrade to a sea-view terrace king room, which happened to be vacant. This accidental upgrade to a sea-view terrace room was absolutely perfect! However, this room type was only available for one night, as it was booked for the second day. I told the front desk that if it became available again, I'd love to have it. Sure enough, at 4 PM, they informed me that a reservation had been canceled – perfect timing! The room I switched to on the second day had an even better, unobstructed view. The entire hotel and the rooms were clean and tastefully minimalist. Enjoying afternoon tea while gazing at Erhai Lake in the afternoon was incredibly relaxing, and the twilight blue hour was particularly romantic. Additionally, several cafes in Wenbi Village are also very beautiful. Dali is such a therapeutic place!

So glad I picked the right place for my first trip to Dali with my little one! The environment is great, the location is perfect, and right downstairs is the Erhai Ecological Corridor. The ground floor is their open-to-public cafe, and as a guest, you get unlimited coffee – anything on the menu is fair game, which is a dream come true for coffee lovers! 🤩 The feeling of lying in bed and looking out at Erhai Lake is truly unique! My child had so much fun too! You wouldn't get bored staying in the room all day, but unfortunately, downstairs is just too exciting, with live singers and a huge lawn where my child absolutely went wild, hahahaha!

Choosing 'A Candle in the Snow' hotel for my Dali trip was an excellent decision; I was thoroughly satisfied with the overall experience. The room was spotless, with impeccable hygiene, and the soft bedding made for a truly relaxing stay. The hotel's decor is unique and creates a wonderful atmosphere, plus the environment is very peaceful. The front desk staff were warm and polite, check-in was swift, and they were very responsive to any issues. The location is convenient for getting around, and you can really feel the owner's thoughtful touches. It was a very comfortable stay, and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dali. I'll definitely prioritize 'A Candle in the Snow' for my next visit.

I brought my mom to Dali for a trip and stumbled upon this hotel, Yunye Hotel, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The location is super convenient, not far from the ancient city, yet the environment is incredibly peaceful, like a little paradise with lush greenery all around. My mom couldn't stop raving about the room and the service – the bedding was comfortable, and the housekeeper was very attentive. She loved the rice noodles for breakfast and the afternoon tea, and there was even a sweet soup offered at night. Overall, it exceeded our expectations! We'll definitely be back next time and I've already recommended it to my friends.

🌲 Dali Cangshan Oxygen Retreat | Living in This Forest, I Kicked My Phone Addiction🍃 Seriously, I'm so grateful! The biggest surprise of my Dali trip wasn't the ancient city or Erhai Lake, but this forest B&B nestled halfway up Cangshan Mountain 🌿. As we drove up from the city, the urban hustle and bustle slowly faded, replaced by lush greenery and the sound of pine trees swaying in the wind. 🌄 **The Rooftop is Pure Soul:** I was absolutely stunned the moment I stepped onto the rooftop – the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain stood behind me like a majestic screen, with the entire Erhai Lake and scattered Bai ethnic villages stretching out below. The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple were faintly visible. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed a sea of rolling clouds. In the evening, I'd sit on the swing chair on the terrace, watching the sunset paint Erhai Lake a honeyed gold 🍯. At night, a glance upwards showed the Milky Way so clearly it brought tears to my eyes ✨. 🌿 **Immersive Mountain Living:** Hydrangeas were in full bloom in the courtyard, and dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto the wooden floors. The natural wood-toned room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, making it feel like sleeping right in the forest 🌲. There were also three resident cats, each with their own unique personality, taking turns on patrol. I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel's overall environment was clean and elegant. The room was spacious, and the cleanliness was meticulous. Facilities like the bathroom and appliances were in good working order and provided a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and gentle, check-in and check-out were efficient, and communication was smooth when issues arose. The surrounding area has convenient transportation, making dining and getting around effortless. The guest room area was quiet at night, allowing for good rest. Overall, there were no disappointments; everything exceeded expectations, and the price was reasonable. It was a very pleasant accommodation experience. I will definitely book here again if I return to the area and would recommend it to friends traveling here.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at Hidden Mist (listed on Trip.com as Santorini National Tide Sea View Resort). If you are looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful lake views, outstanding hospitality, and easy access to the Dreamland Resort area, I would happily recommend this hotel and would stay here again. Location: The hotel is located within Dreamland Resort on the eastern side of Dali, approximately 20 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the railway station, and around an hour from Dali Ancient City. We stayed near the Ancient City first before moving here, which I would recommend for anyone wanting to explore both sides of Dali. The resort is large, beautifully maintained, and very walkable. Complimentary golf cart shuttles regularly transport guests around the resort, while taxis are easy to arrange from the main entrance. There are quite a few staircases throughout the property, so it may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility. Service: The service was exceptional and one of the biggest highlights of our stay. Before we even arrived, the hotel contacted us by email and created a dedicated WeChat group with staff from different departments so we could ask questions or request assistance at any time. Everything felt organised, personal, and effortless. From the moment we arrived, a golf cart was waiting to collect us from the resort entrance. Throughout our stay, the staff regularly checked in to ensure everything was going well and genuinely cared that we were comfortable. The handwritten welcome note, housekeeping notes after each room clean, and staff asking what time would be most convenient to service our room were thoughtful touches that made us feel truly looked after. Although our booking only included a complimentary airport or railway station pickup, the hotel kindly arranged an airport drop-off instead because we had arrived from another part of Dali. This was greatly appreciated. Room & Cleanliness: We booked a room with a private garden overlooking Erhai Lake, and it was absolutely worth it. Waking up to the peaceful lake view each morning quickly became one of our favourite parts of the stay. The room and bathroom were spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. Everything still feels new and exceptionally clean. The large soaking bath, with bath milk replenished daily, was perfect after a day of exploring. The shower had excellent water pressure. As someone with very long hair, I found the shampoo and conditioner a little drying, so I would recommend bringing your own. The secure WiFi was reliable and fast enough for both my husband and me to work during our stay. Breakfast & Dining: Breakfast was excellent, with a choice between a Western breakfast and a local Yunnan set menu. We tried both, and every meal was fresh, well presented, and delicious. As we had an early flight on our final morning, the hotel prepared a takeaway breakfast for us, another thoughtful gesture that reflected the level of service throughout our stay. Our booking also included complimentary afternoon tea with cakes and fresh fruit. It would have been even better if guests could also choose a complimentary tea or coffee. The room includes quality tea, a premium kettle, and a mini fridge, although adding coffee would be a welcome touch, especially in Yunnan. Facilities & Surroundings: The hotel has a convenient power bank rental station in the lobby, and Dreamland Resort is full of beautiful cafés, viewpoints, and photo spots. Flomis Garden is less than a five-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for visitors. Our booking also included a traditional tea ceremony experience, which unfortunately we did not have time to attend. The service was not just good the staff went above and beyond in ways that I honestly did not expect, even from a five-star hotel. Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly, attentive and meticulous. You can really feel that they care about the little details and the overall guest experience. One thing that really amazed me was the cleanliness and attention to detail in the room. The shower area was spotless every single time we returned to the hotel. Even when there were water marks and spots on the shower taps and head before we left the room, we would come back to find everything sparkling clean again. It was such a small detail, but it showed just how much effort the housekeeping team puts into maintaining the room. Honestly, this is the kind of attention to detail that you don’t even always expect from a five-star hotel. What impressed me even more was how thoughtfully they considered the needs of travellers. Knowing that guests would likely spend the entire day walking and exploring Dali, the hotel thoughtfully prepared soaking basins for guests to soak their legs after a long day. After hours of walking, coming back to the hotel and having this little comfort prepared for us was such a lovely touch. It showed that they weren’t simply providing a room, they were thinking about the entire experience of their guests. The food and drinks were another pleasant surprise. Breakfast had a wonderful variety, including their homemade yoghurt and soy milk, which were both delicious. During lunchtime, they also provided coffee and tea such a thoughtful touch when you’re out exploring for the day. And dinner was another highlight. Their homemade rose vinegar and wine were such unexpected and memorable touches. Everything felt carefully prepared and had a sense of warmth and authenticity that you don’t often find in hotels. What I appreciated most was the attention to detail throughout the entire stay. From the spotless room, thoughtful amenities and food, to the genuinely warm service, you could tell that the team truly cares about their guests. After travelling and staying in different hotels, I can honestly say this stay left a very strong impression on me. The combination of exceptional service, meticulous cleanliness, thoughtful details, wonderful food and genuinely friendly staff made this hotel stand out far beyond what I expected. If I ever return to Dali, I wouldn’t even need to think twice about where to stay. This would be my first choice, without hesitation.
