Hotels near ARMA Museum in Bali

We loved staying at Villa Sonia. It’s in a great location - not in the hustle and bustle of all the shops, but close enough to get there in 10-15 minutes. It’s surrounded by cafes and restaurants, as well as M Marts (like seven eleven) and spas! The villa also has it’s own restaurant and spa, which is really convenient. Apart from all these conveniences, the villa is also really beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. An umbrella and plug adapter was also provided for our room - which was amazing since we didn’t bring any of those with us. We definitely recommend this place, and will choose it again if we ever travel to Ubud again.

My stay at MaxOne Ubud was a great experience. It’s not a large hotel, but it’s very suitable for anyone who prefers minimalist and convenient accommodation. Located on one of the busy roads in Ubud, the hotel is within walking distance of several nice restaurants, cafés, and attractions. However, do keep in mind that the basement parking area is quite small. If you’re traveling by car or motorcycle, it can sometimes be difficult to find a parking spot. The room itself is compact but well-equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was clean throughout, and I was able to rest well. The front desk staff were very kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more pleasant. Overall, it could easily become one of my go-to hotels when visiting Ubud. 😊

The room was clean and tidy, with tasteful decor. The view from the room overlooked rice paddies and a volcano! The room itself was quite spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was beautiful and clean, and the food at the hotel restaurant was also very good!

The first impression was negative. When I arrived, the reception was so noisy that the staff couldn't hear me at all. The reception area is open and located right next to a noisy road. You can also hear the noise of construction in the area. I hoped the rooms were quieter. The hotel is located in a kinda gorge near the river, the rooms are below the reception level. You can also hear the road and construction in the room. I was shown to my room, but the air conditioning remote control didn't work, it was stuck at 25 degrees. 4 or 5 staff came to my room trying to fix it, they were talking to each other, the door was open, the noise from outside was unbearable. After 2 hours a technician came and fixed the remote control. I asked if it was possible to cancel the reservation, I was advised to call the manager, the manager said that he was waiting for confirmation from the site, the site claimed that he was waiting for confirmation from the “partner”. After more than an hour of correspondence with support, I gave up and stayed at the hotel. I lived in room 255, above the room there was something like a terrace where there were tables. Starting from Saturday, I woke up at 8 in the morning from the grinding of furniture that was being dragged upstairs, although I always sleep with earplugs, there was zero sound insulation, you could hear every sound from the roof, for 3 days it was very noisy, until 1 in the morning tables and chairs were constantly moving. The location is average, close to the center by transport, there are cafes within walking distance. Pros: nice design, good condition of furniture and walls, comfortable bed, normal air conditioning, fairly large area, daily cleaning with replenishment of tea, coffee and water on request. The bathroom has toiletries, including even hair conditioner. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower, the water was hot. Employees try to be polite. The room had its own router, Wi-Fi worked reliably. The pool is quite nice, beautiful garden and nature around. Cons: noise, stains on textiles here and there, slightly shabby walls, view of the wall (although it is called a view of the garden), the restaurant has a very limited choice of dishes and only local black coffee, only cash is accepted. There is a feeling of abandonment, perhaps now is not the season. The hotel has a spa and a shop, but they don't seem to be open. I have doubts about security, anyone can go down the elevator, there is no camera near my room. Perhaps the employees keep an eye on the visitors, but they spend more time on their phones and picking their noses. Sorry, but literally. I saw it myself, unfortunately. There was very little pressure in the shower, and the water drained quickly from the bathtub even with the plug closed. The hygiene shower was leaking, so there was always a puddle around the toilet. There were no towels are the pool for 2 days.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by friendly staff. Our room was located at the far end of the hotel, which required a bit of a walk. While this was slightly tiring, it came with a silver lining: the back entrance near our room opened directly onto a street lined with shops and restaurants. Additionally, staff members were always available and ready to assist with our luggage due to the distance from the main reception. The buffet food was a highlight of our stay—fresh and with a good variety of options. There were, however, a couple of minor inconveniences. The room did not come with a hair dryer by default; you had to request one separately. Also, the bathroom design could use improvement. Although there was a shower curtain, water from the shower would land on the edge of the tub and run onto the floor, leaving the bathroom floor under water. On a more positive note, the hotel’s exterior is beautiful—very well maintained and clearly cared for, which added to the charm of the overall experience. All in all, despite a few small issues, the hotel was pleasant and offered good value.

The hotel front desk service was excellent. I had specific room requests, and the staff patiently showed me different rooms and the pool. Although I hadn't booked the floating breakfast, they kindly explained it to me. Everyone in Bali is so welcoming. There were also welcome drinks available for pick-up on the top floor. The room offered a rice field view. The breakfast buffet was just okay, but filling, though the variety wasn't extensive.

This is a super spot in Ubud. It's centrally located yet tucked away in a quiet corner. They have both villas and deluxe rooms. We stayed in a deluxe room, and it was simply beautiful. The room and bathroom were both very spacious. The grounds are gorgeous, and the breakfasts are delicious. There's also a restaurant with reasonable prices and tasty food. Next time, we'll definitely book a villa. The price for these accommodations is incredibly affordable.

Great view from the villa. Daily cleaning, and linens changed about 2-3 times a week. The breakfasts were tasty, but the selection was very small and the portions were tiny. Still, we were glad we booked with breakfast. The owner's family is very nice. There wasn't a fridge in the room, but there's a shared one on the first floor where you can store food and drinks. Cozy, clean, compact room.

The hotel offers different room types: suites share a small courtyard and pool between two units, junior suites share a small courtyard and pool among four units, while deluxe pool view rooms and deluxe rooms are in the main building. We originally booked a suite, but the hotel kindly upgraded us to a villa for free. Our villa had its own private pool, directly facing the rice terraces. During the day, monkeys would visit, and we loved relaxing in the pool daily, watching them play and wrestle – it was incredibly comfortable. The only thing I found a bit hard to get used to were the pillows; they were much higher than what I'm used to in hotels back home. The hotel service was also excellent. We booked the Ubud Palace performance through the hotel at the same price as outside vendors, and they even provided complimentary pick-up and drop-off. The hotel shuttle runs a loop: hotel - palace - Monkey Forest - hotel, and you can stop at other points along the way. When we wanted to go to a spa in the afternoon, the hotel also provided free transportation. Given its close-to-nature environment, you'll hear geckos at night, and in the early morning, monkeys might be scampering on the roof. These little creatures are all gentle and don't approach humans.

The location is quite good, right in the center of Ubud. However, it’s a long walk from the lobby to the room, as my room is at the very back of the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields, creating a nice atmosphere, and there are two swimming pools. However, the bathroom door cannot be fully closed, the bathroom blinds cannot be completely pulled down, and the bidet spray is very strong to the point of being uncomfortable.
