City of Dreams - Nüwa Macau

9.8/10
Perfect

I've lived in Macau for a few years, and since I prefer quiet places, I chose this hotel over the popular '网红' (influencer-favorite) ones. I highly recommend their rooms with a view! You can see several iconic buildings of the Sands Resorts, and the view is definitely one of the best in Cotai. The room is relatively new and quite spacious, and the bathtub is huge! You can control the room with a tablet, and the flow of movement is well-designed. However, the decor style isn't particularly distinctive, though it does have a smart toilet. The welcome flat peaches were good, but the chocolate wasn't tasty, as strange as the dessert after dinner at The Kitchen downstairs. The amenities are noteworthy; the toiletries are Acqua di Parma, the drinking water is Nordaq, the slippers are thick and comfortable, and the minibar is well-stocked. Regarding dining, breakfast is semi-buffet style, and the quality is good, though the variety is a bit limited. The à la carte main courses and soup are Chinese, along with a seafood dish and juice. The Western pastries in the buffet area could be improved; the round bread was dry, the croissants were mediocre, but the muffins were delicious, and the Chinese options were excellent. Overall, the good outweighs the bad. Downstairs, they have my favorite steakhouse in Macau (The Kitchen) and Cantonese restaurant (Jade Dragon). The bar at Alain Ducasse at Morpheus next door is also good. Many restaurants are a bit of a distance from the hotel and involve some winding paths, so they might be hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. Both the front desk and housekeeping services were excellent; they were responsive to all requests and very thoughtful. The front desk proactively arranged a room with a view for me, and housekeeping patiently fulfilled my various demands. There were some issues with cleanliness, but the staff actively and promptly resolved them, and I even received a bottle of sparkling tea. The rain shower had a minor leak, and the problem persisted after repairs, so the hotel offered fruit as compensation. The housekeeping staff's uniforms look quite comfortable, which is great if they are! I noticed the tops are short-sleeved with a small slit at the back, the ladies' bottoms are culottes of appropriate length, and their shoes are sneakers. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for their hospitality, and I wish them all the best!

City of Dreams - Morpheus Macau

9.7/10
Excellent

Summary: Next time I'm in Macau, I'll definitely stay at Morpheus again. Facilities: The Morpheus boasts a unique architectural style, with a lobby and elevators that feel incredibly futuristic. The hotel also features exhibitions and a rooftop pool, making it perfect for a staycation. The smart home devices throughout the room are super convenient, and the toiletries are Acqua di Parma, with a long-lasting scent – I'd give them a solid thumbs up. Hygiene: The room's cleanliness was impeccable, spotless and tidy. Public areas like the lobby, shopping mall, and corridors were also very clean. Environment: There's a bus stop just a short walk from the entrance, and shuttle buses and taxis are also readily available. Service: At check-in, I was offered a welcome tea. I was then personally escorted to my room, where the staff introduced all the room's features. The entire process was thoughtful and attentive. When checking out and collecting my luggage, staff members immediately approached to offer assistance. P.S.: The mini-bar offers a rich variety of drinks, beer, snacks, instant noodles, fruit, and almond cookies – perfect for a late-night snack. Turndown service was proactively offered, and even when not requested, essential oils were provided.

This was my first time staying in a Japanese-style hotel. The decor was simple, and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic during check-in. It's an excellent choice for families with children. They provided red wine, kids' snacks, and fruit in the room, and all the drinks in the mini-fridge were complimentary. During our stay, the staff noticed we used eye masks, and the next day they thoughtfully provided another pair – such a considerate touch! Plus, it's super convenient for Water World, right on the second floor, and the kids had an absolute blast! Highly recommend for families.

Altira Macau

This is yet another positive review for Altira! This time, we were lucky enough to stay on the floor managed by Ah Nan, and we really appreciate the excellent housekeeping service he provided over our six-day stay. We've previously enjoyed dining at Tenmasa and Aurora, which were both great, and this time we tried Monsoon, which was also surprisingly good. Altira always has so many pleasant surprises! The staff, from front desk check-in to the restaurant team, were all wonderful. Just a small suggestion: the previous batch of toiletries was better. The new product boxes are quite soft, and the comb and toothbrush aren't as good as before.

Great location, and the room was new and very clean. I booked it for a promotional price of 20 TWD, which was incredibly good value for money. Plus, they gave me a bunch of gifts! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Macau!

Traveling to Zhuhai Chimelong with my child, we decided to visit Macau as well and were very satisfied with our two-night stay. The room was incredibly quiet; even though it was right by the elevator, there was absolutely no noise. The air conditioning in the room also ran silently, which is perfect for guests sensitive to sound. The bedding was very comfortable to sleep on. I had read reviews mentioning how neatly the rooms were tidied, and it was true! Even though I had tidied up before leaving, when I returned, I saw that the housekeeping staff had even coiled my charging cables neatly. The room was also spotlessly clean. Some guests mentioned language issues, but everyone I encountered spoke Mandarin very well. Those who didn't speak Chinese proactively used English along with some Chinese. Check-in and luggage storage were both very smooth. I highly recommend staying here.

In spite of the age of the hotel, it still looks modern. Hotel has three restaurants: Western, Chinese and Thai cuisine. I tried all of them - every time is a new menu. Not average hotel bar - really provides a lot of interesting cocktails and premium spirits. Room dining service works great. I received a treat from a hotel - a birthday cake - it was tea touching. In my opinion, location of the hotel is quite convenient. Area is quite, at the same time can walk to historical places, nearby there’s a modern community with restaurants, coffee shops, convenience stores. I didn’t find a hairdryer and body lotion (before it was provided by the hotel). Rooms are big and well furnished. Definitely stay here again.

W Macau - Studio City

9.4/10
Outstanding

Here's a summary of guest reviews for W Macau: it's a 'party-centric' five-star hotel with an excellent location, trendy design, and generally outstanding service, though occasional issues with details and peak-hour check-in experiences are noted. ✨ **Key Highlights** * **'Cheat Mode' Location & Transportation**: Situated within Studio City, it's walking distance to The Parisian, The Venetian, and The Londoner. Don Don Donki and a food street are right downstairs, and it's adjacent to the Light Rail station, making travel, shopping, and dining incredibly convenient. * **Trendy 'Cinematic' Design**: Opened in 2023, the facilities are brand new. The design blends W Hotels' trendy vibrancy with Studio City's cinematic flair. Rooms are often praised for being spacious, clean, and photo-friendly. * **Stunning Views & Hardware**: High-floor rooms offer views of the Parisian Eiffel Tower, Studio City's '8'-shaped Ferris wheel, or the city. Rooms come equipped with Dyson hair dryers, Bluetooth speakers, and typically feature generous space for bathtubs and showers. * **Dining & Surprise Services**: Breakfast (at 'Tzitzina' restaurant) is diverse and frequently commended. Many guests mention free room upgrades or receiving surprise amenities like birthday cakes and wine. ⚠️ **Things to Note** * **Inefficient Peak Check-in**: The most common complaint is excessively long wait times for check-in, with some guests even having to wait for room cleaning past 3 PM. * **Occasional Service Flaws**: While service is generally enthusiastic, there are negative instances (e.g., anniversary mix-ups, perfunctory remedies). Some guests feel the value for money is just average. * **Detail Tips**: Deposits require Alipay, credit card, or MOP/HKD cash (RMB and WeChat Pay are not accepted). For those with high cleanliness standards, you can request a deep clean in your remarks. 💎 **Summary** This hotel might not be ideal for those seeking traditional luxury and extreme quiet. However, if you're a young couple, friends traveling together, or a photography enthusiast who values stylish design, a convenient location, and abundant entertainment, it will be a perfect fit. It's advisable to avoid peak holiday periods or be prepared for potential check-in queues.

Grand Coloane Resort

9.1/10
Good

The property is made for those looking for a laid back and relatively quiet vacation. Great for families with kids and elderlies. Wheelchair access was satisfactory from entry, to passage through the lobby, upstairs rooms, and outdoor gardens, pool and promenade, which was our favorite. The seaside paved path was breezy and shaded in the morning. The connecting rooms (1 king bed & 2 twin beds) were huge. 4 people can stay on the floor of 1 room all at the same time and still be able to move around with plenty of space. The toilet and bath were spacious too. The outdoor pool is not very big but was good enough, the indoor pool is small. Tennis courts are good but a bit far to get to and tricky with stairs. Bring supplies for snacks and beverages if planning to stay in. No shops nearby for a gum. The 5-min taxi ride to Coloane Village was worth it with its charming old town vibe, and cafes, including eggtarts/pastries from Lord Stows. Eat cantonese dishes with seafood options at Comidas Va Kei. Their grilled chicken and salt & pepper corn were delicious. Paid about 400HKD for a meal for 6.

New Orient Landmark Hotel

Hotels in Macau are so much better than those in Hong Kong, honestly. For a similar or even lower price, you get a much bigger room. I've stayed at the Londoner in Taipa before, but if you're looking to explore the old streets rather than just shopping malls and casinos, staying on the Macau Peninsula, in the old town, is much more convenient. This time, I chose the New Orient Landmark; it wasn't expensive, and the room was quite spacious. While it's not brand new, it's well-maintained. The room even came with a dehumidifier. It's a short walk to Wynn Macau, Lisboa, and Grand Lisboa. Strolling to the Ruins of St. Paul's and Rua de Cinco de Outubro is also easy. There are also buses nearby to Coloane and other areas. Really, the entire old town isn't that big; it feels like everything is within a three-kilometer radius. If you enjoy walking, you can get everywhere on foot. It was definitely a much better experience compared to the hotel I stayed at later in Hong Kong.
