Luxury Hotels in Datong

"The location is excellent, and the overall design and ambiance are great. The service is attentive, and the breakfast was the most satisfying part – a rich selection that included local specialties, Western dishes, Cantonese dim sum, and Chaoshan beef noodles. The downside is that the room is a bit small, and the bathroom faces the balcony. There are no chairs on the balcony, which makes the balcony space feel a bit awkward and wasted given the small room size. The hotel also seems to lack some experience in catering to families with children. Besides drawing, there aren't many other activities or equipment in the kids' activity room. During the Dragon Boat Festival, there was a craft activity, but no aprons were provided, and washable paints weren't used. This resulted in my child's favorite dress being ruined."

"The room was very clean and tidy, and the hotel was bright and airy. Because it was peak tourist season and hotels in Datong were too expensive, I chose to stay in Huai'ren District at the last minute. Unexpectedly, the experience was excellent. The room had a high ceiling and was very spacious, and the cleanliness was superb. The only drawback was that the small platform in the shower area would have made showering more convenient if it weren't there. Next time I visit Datong, I will definitely stay in Huai'ren again. The hotel breakfast was very plentiful."

"The rooms were plentiful and had all the necessary amenities. They delivered fruit and snacks daily, and the service attitude was really good. We even ordered directly from the Chinese restaurant for one meal, which was quite good; they even proactively suggested smaller portions since they knew the servings were large. One staff member even brought us pear juice and provided disposable items like toilet seat covers. However, the facilities are truly old. The shower pressure was very low, and the overhead showerhead kept leaking. I thought it was very close to the ancient city, but you actually need to take a taxi to get there, it's not within walking distance, which is inconvenient. There's no free laundry, and the TV is quite old. The breakfast area didn't feel very good; it was all long tables, so you always had to share with others, and the breakfast time was too short."

"The breakfast was delicious, especially the eight-treasure porridge. I really enjoyed the knife-cut noodles; they were perfectly chewy. The local specialty, 'kuaile,' was also tasty. The staff's service was excellent, and the room was spacious with a view of the ancient city, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep. We had 6 bottles of complimentary mineral water and a welcome fruit platter. The only downside was that the mini-fridge in the room wasn't cooling, and I'm not sure why."

"The cleanliness and service rating goes to Aunt Jin on the tenth floor. Aunt Jin is incredibly responsible and would ask us every day if we needed anything. Seeing that we had children, she proactively offered kids' toiletries, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. One day, we came back after going out to find Aunt Jin had prepared lime juice for us, which was truly heartwarming. However, the staff at the front desk and in the restaurant really need some serious training. On the day we checked in, because we had two children, I casually asked if we could get an upgrade. I wasn't trying to be difficult, and we would have been fine if an upgrade wasn't possible, as we had originally booked a YunYa Twin Room. But the front desk staff had a very unpleasant expression. If you're unable to do something, you can just say so directly, instead of telling us we'd been upgraded to a Family Room, only for me to check on Trip.com and see that all Family Rooms are above the 20th floor, and we were still given a YunYa Twin Room. What's the point? It made us feel really uncomfortable. The breakfast hostess was the same. Every day, she'd stop us, saying we only had two breakfasts. I paid the extra on the first day, but then every single day! We had breakfast for 5 days, and every day she'd stop us and say we only had two breakfasts! The handover between departments and staff is terrible. The breakfast area, too – breakfast ends at 10:30 AM, but before 10 AM, there was no cold milk left. After I informed them, they said they'd restock, but they never did, telling me to go to the Wyndham next door to get some… Sigh, in short, having stayed in so many hotels, these are genuinely first-time experiences for me."

"Extremely satisfied! Every day, drinks, teas, coffee capsules are replenished, and the room is cleaned meticulously. The mattress is also super comfortable. The staff are very polite and always greet you. They provide L'Occitane toiletries, which, while not super expensive, show attention to detail and elevate the experience. The breakfast is lavish and starts at 7 AM; I recommend going early as it can get crowded. The restaurant downstairs is delicious, affordable, and no waiting in line – fantastic!"

"I forgot to leave a review before, but even though the facilities aren't top-notch, the environment was quite peaceful. I'm not sure if it was because I requested a quiet room when booking, but our three rooms were on a floor where there were indeed no noisy drunkards or unruly children. Being able to get a good rest makes it a decent hotel. Some hotels, despite having great facilities, have terrible management, which is pointless... Breakfast was average; the lamb offal soup was pretty good, but you can't expect too much from breakfast at this level of hotel. Both service and breakfast were pretty standard, and overall, it wasn't a rip-off."

"The hotel's location is superb; it's the perfect choice for exploring the old city, with all the sights and great food nearby. The hotel is very clean, the restaurant food is delicious, and the staff provide excellent service. As I was traveling alone and wanted to try local specialties, the staff kindly reduced the portion sizes, which was great – tasty and no waste! The room facilities are new, but there's a minor issue: the sink and shower are in separate areas, and the bath towels are kept under the sink. This makes it inconvenient to grab a towel after showering. If you take it into the shower beforehand, there's nowhere to hang it. Perhaps a hook could be added?"

"An exceptional hotel! Great location near the Datong City Wall with easy transportation. Rooms are clean, affordable, and come with very soft pillows and blankets. I was deeply touched by the housekeeping staff who left me a lovely note daily and even gave me balloons. This is by far the most impressive stay I've ever had. Breakfast was huge and delicious, and the restaurant is beautiful. I will absolutely stay here again on my next visit!"

"Behind the grey walls and blue tiles, you can feel the gentle embrace of times gone by. The courtyard's tree shadows dance with red lanterns, creating a beautiful scene. Inside, the warm light illuminates the original wooden beams. The courtyard itself has been redecorated since my last visit, with tree shadows weaving patterns of light on the flagstones. Every breath here brings a sense of relaxation, so characteristic of Datong. The service is attentive but never intrusive. Here, time slows down to just the right pace, perfect for turning a holiday into poetry. In summary: My favorite and most recommended hotel in Datong! Welcome fruit: So sweet!
