I booked my flight and hotel just a week before my trip, in a frantic rush. During peak season, there were hardly any international five-star hotels left to choose from, and continuous stays were impossible. That's how I ended up booking Centara Karon, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise! The hotel's location is excellent – convenient (right outside the market) yet quiet (even light sleepers can get a good night's rest). The staff are all very nice, and the extra bed for my child made our week-long stay very comfortable. The main clientele of the hotel, and frankly, of Karon Beach in general, seems to be Russians.

We really enjoyed our stay at Waterfront Suites Phuket by Centara. The apartment was spacious, clean, bright, and very comfortable, with a beautiful sea view, large windows, and a balcony that made the stay even more special.

It was an excellent option for a family vacation because there was so much space — comfortable bedrooms, a big living area, and a dining space where we could relax together. The apartment had everything we needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay, and it truly felt cozy and welcoming.

The location was also a big plus, with the beach nearby and a very relaxing atmosphere around the property. Overall, we had a very positive experience and created wonderful memories here.

What we enjoyed most of our stay was how well treated we were by the staff and our kids had so much fun with all the activities the hotel
Offered daily. This hotel is really family orientated to give the best experience for the entire family. The breakfast was very good and for the kids a special table was set with everything they like in plates and cups themed for boys and girls. Special buffet nights are offered with local dances to entertain. The location is perfect, very close to restaurants, the beach and massages. We will definitely return.

Pros: Excellent location, close to the beach, nice hotel environment, with children's entertainment facilities, and a rich breakfast.

Cons: The hardware facilities are a bit old, the lobby is quite low-end and very hot. There were no welcome drinks or towels upon check-in, instead, they had a Starbucks where you had to buy your own. For a family-friendly hotel, it's not very accommodating to children; we were charged an additional 4200 Thai Baht for 4 nights for a child not occupying a bed (whereas many other hotels in Phuket offer free stays for children). Furthermore, the hotel doesn't offer Chinese-speaking service. The check-in time is late and check-out time is early (3 PM check-in, 11 AM check-out), which goes against international norms.

This is hands down one of the best-located hotels in all of Phuket.

Perched at the northern end of Karon Beach, all the rooms are villas, spread out across the hillside, and each offers a full ocean view. The hotel has a private, easily accessible stone pathway leading directly to Karon Beach. It's not a difficult walk at all.

The restaurant, situated on a cliff, boasts a first-class view and impeccable service. It truly exemplifies that traditional Thai smiling service that makes you feel right at home. You can enjoy your meal while gazing at the sea – no need to chase after those trendy Instagrammable restaurants, this hotel fulfills all your dining expectations.

Of course, the villas with private pools are the absolute best. After a day of exploring and working up a sweat, you can return to your room, shed your clothes, and immediately jump into your own pool. The rooms are certainly spacious enough, the air conditioning is powerful, and with a private pool, private sun loungers, and a private courtyard, what more could you ask for?

The service is 10,000% top-notch; every single staff member is incredibly friendly. Upon check-in, all you need to do is download an app to call for any service with a single tap, from room service to arranging a taxi – it's all managed seamlessly. Finally, a huge thank you to the front desk staff for helping me recover my lost ID. My sincere gratitude goes out to all the hotel staff.

Everything else was fine, but the front desk staff clearly discriminated against Chinese people. We booked a private pool villa, and on the first day we complained three times that the pool water was too dirty, full of dead insects and leaves, and stagnant, asking them to arrange for staff to clean it up. Were they deaf? They verbally promised three times, but no one came?

The hotel isn't very close to the beach, but there's a free hourly hotel shuttle running until 8pm. The swimming pool is great with 2 cool areas for kids to play. There's a sandbox and  an indoor play area. Rooms are big enough and come with a nice balcony, with a table and 2 chairs. Bathroom could be a little cleaner. The area around the hotel looks like a wasteland, but fortunately can reach a 7/11 and 2 other supermarkets within a 10-minute walk.

Our stay was truly wonderful, marked by comfortable beds and spacious, well-appointed rooms that perfectly suited my family’s needs. We especially appreciated the attentive service and thoughtful amenities provided throughout our visit. A special thank you to Shan, whose warm hospitality and prompt assistance made our experience even more enjoyable and comfortable.

Perfect value for money. The location is superb, with everything within walking distance. Everything feels new, and the room service is incredibly quick (coffee delivered in just 3-5 minutes). Their convenient mobile app truly simplifies all communication. For instance, you can easily request housekeeping after leaving your room or ask for anything else via chat – it's incredibly convenient.

The hotel was very beautiful and we felt very comfortable during our stay. We had a room with a private pool, which was very clean and well maintained. The room itself was also spotless and nicely kept.

The beach area was stunning, with clear water and the option to get a massage right by the sea. The only downside was that the sunbeds were quite old and uncomfortable.

Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and offered a good variety.

The hotel is a bit secluded, so you need to take a taxi or rent a scooter outside to get to town. However, there is a daily shuttle to the city or the nearest 7/11. The shuttle times, for example to the night market, were a bit limited, and if you want to go outside the scheduled times, you have to pay extra.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a peaceful place away from the busy town, this hotel is the perfect choice.

First off, my inaugural trip to Koh Samui was full of delightful surprises. Over 95% of the tourists here are Westerners, with only a small number of Chinese visitors. The overall quality of tourists is high, and the city's service-oriented mindset is strong.

Secondly, choosing Centara Resort brought another big surprise to my trip. I booked a bit late, so only a garden-view twin room was available, but it was still great. I could see the pool, the beach, and coconut trees right from my balcony.

**Location:** Just a ten-minute drive from the airport, making transportation very convenient. Chaweng Beach, Samui's best beach, is right outside. Within a 15-minute walk, you can reach Chaweng Night Market, the bar street, shopping areas, massage parlors, Tops supermarket, Starbucks, and more.

**Service:** Full marks for service! From the moment you step into the hotel, you're greeted by a warm and enthusiastic front desk staff. They offer turndown service and a welcome fruit platter with mangoes, oranges, apples, passion fruit, etc. The room also includes complimentary hotel-exclusive nasal inhalers, which are the best I've tried in Thailand – I bought 10 more at check-out. The toiletries, shower gel, and shampoo all have a rich essential oil scent. As a bonus, there's a 'surprise button' on the room's landline phone; press it, and you get a surprise treat every day. The fridge is stocked with over four kinds of complimentary soft drinks, daily nuts, and banana chips, plus a facial mist. The restaurant also has a Chinese menu.

**Dining:** Breakfast offers a daily special dish alongside à la carte and buffet options. Over four days, I tried four different special dishes, including Northern Thai noodles, soup noodles, and Tom Yum noodles. For afternoon tea and dinner, the hotel has two more restaurants: one specializing in Thai cuisine and another by the beach focusing on Western dishes. Both are exquisite and delicious. The Thai restaurant offers a set menu for two, which takes the guesswork out of ordering and is good value for money.

**Recreation:** There are two swimming pools, a gym, and more. Plenty of daybeds are available by the beach, and as soon as you lie down, someone brings you iced water. I also saw people ordering drinks and coconuts. I plan to try the spa next time.

**Value for Money:** Traveling during the off-peak season, this hotel offers great value among the high-end options in Samui.

Finally, I'm delighted I got to stay at a hotel like Centara and grateful to every Centara team member for their warm service, especially Manager Li, the airport driver, housekeepers, F&B staff, and beach service staff.
