Overall, the location is superb, right in the heart of Lujiazui, making transportation incredibly convenient. The river view is definitely the biggest highlight. The service is consistently good, but the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, and some amenities are lacking. It's still a good option for a trip to Shanghai.

First, I have to commend Vinnie at the front desk. Her service was exceptionally thoughtful and meticulous. During check-in, she patiently asked about my accommodation needs and travel plans and even proactively upgraded my room. I was really hoping for an expansive river view, so this gesture was particularly heartwarming. The staff at the kids' club were also very responsible and caring, helping to look after the children, which made staying with kids very reassuring.

However, the upgraded room was a corner room, and the viewing windows were a bit small, so I didn't get the full river view I was hoping for, which was a minor disappointment. The room itself was very clean, but the hotel is quite old, and the carpet looked worn and dirty. The in-room facilities were also quite basic, clearly showing the age of an older hotel.

The breakfast selection was very rich, with many Chinese and Western options, and the taste was good. A high percentage of guests were international, creating a great atmosphere. However, during peak hours, there were a lot of diners, and the food lines were long, making it inconvenient to go back and forth for food.

Additionally, I booked a package that included Disney tickets, and I was looking forward to taking the hotel's shuttle to and from Disneyland. Unfortunately, this shuttle service has been canceled, which significantly reduced the convenience of getting around. This was quite disappointing.

Overall, the location and service are major positives, while the hardware facilities are a drawback. I'd likely consider staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai, but I'll also compare it with other riverside hotels before making a decision.

Shanghai Jing An Shangri-La is perfectly situated in the heart of Jing'an's bustling commercial district, offering incredibly convenient transportation and immediate access to vibrant city life. The 'cloud-level' rooms provide stunning panoramic views of Shanghai. The dining options are diverse, and the front desk staff, Tina, Luca, and Jessica, provided thoughtful and attentive service. The hotel is also well-equipped. Definitely worth another visit!

The Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai is absolutely the pinnacle of a five-star experience! The room is incredibly spacious, and the layout truly understands how people live. The double toilets and double shower rooms are super thoughtful – no more waiting in line! The oversized bathtub has a mirror that doubles as a TV, making bath time and binge-watching pure bliss ✨. With double vanities and a separate walk-in closet, there's ample storage, making getting ready a breeze. The dedicated office area is quiet and practical, perfect for business travelers. The large bed is soft and comfortable, and the big sofa by the window can double as a bed. The bay window offers spectacular views of Qiantan – you can just lie there and take it all in 🌆. Full of thoughtful details and high-quality amenities, the service is also warm and attentive. It's perfect for both business and leisure. Highly recommended!

Took the baby to a hotel where we could watch planes ✈️ take off and land.

The lobby is on the 3rd floor, or you can check in at the Executive Lounge on the 12th floor. We stayed in a room on the 9th floor where we could see the planes, and my baby was so excited! However, the room design was a bit odd. I thought there would be a bathtub, but it was just a shower, and the shower curtain wasn't long enough, so the bathroom floor was completely wet after showering… not very user-friendly.

The food was quite good, all served in the Executive Lounge on the 12th floor. The view there was even better than from the room – I just wanted to stay in the lounge forever, haha! Afternoon tea started at 2:30 PM, and the brownies were delicious. A cup of tea and a brownie, watching planes and daydreaming – so chill.
Happy hour was at 5:30 PM. If you're not too picky, it could easily pass for dinner. They had fried rice, BBQ meats, vegetables, meat soup, sweet soup, and dim sum. There was also a good selection of drinks, including hawthorn juice which my baby loved.
Breakfast the next day was a mix of à la carte and buffet, with a Chinese focus. The wontons were delicious, I'm not sure why they weren't on the menu, they tasted very fresh, probably freshly made. The plain congee wasn't great; it felt like old congee that had been re-boiled with added water. The black tea was also a letdown, with tea dregs sticking to the cup walls, which felt a bit cheap.

As for the service, well, it's really hard to rate.
Individual service was excellent. For example, the lady at the Executive Lounge remembered my baby's favorite drink, and when we left, the bellboy helped us load our luggage into the trunk at P parking.
However, when it came to anything requiring communication, things really fell apart:
- For instance, during check-in, I asked for baby slippers and toiletries. The front desk lady said housekeeping would send them right away. But after a long wait, I called again to follow up, and when the service staff finally arrived, there were only toiletries?! I waited a long time again before the baby slippers were finally delivered (sigh).
- Another example: dining at Xiangju Jiangnan Zao on the 2nd floor, I asked to charge it to the room. Even though I had paid a substantial deposit, they claimed it wasn't enough. Only after reconfirming a second time did they say they had made a mistake?! It's like, if you're not embarrassed, then everyone else is.
- And finally, the package included a 200 RMB dining credit. At check-out, I specifically confirmed with the gentleman on the 12th floor to apply it, and he said no problem, the deposit would be refunded shortly. An hour later, they overcharged me by 200 RMB… (facepalm) So frustrating.

This old five-star hotel is still well-maintained, but this time, during the May Day holiday, there were so many guests that even the Executive Lounge was packed. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all swamped, which really impacted the stay experience. Also, the food at the Executive Lounge was genuinely subpar, especially the afternoon tea, which has dropped several levels compared to before. The happy hour offerings were also just so-so, with no substantial dishes. We booked a suite this time, and the view was fantastic. I was very pleased with the large fruit platter.

The hotel service, as always, was professional and meticulous. The staff were patient, thoughtful, and enthusiastic. Even before check-in, the hotel departments noticed from the booking that there would be children staying, so they decorated the room in a child-friendly way early on, with all sorts of children's amenities readily available, and even bananas among the welcome fruit, which kids love. Both during check-in and check-out, we encountered Miss Sun Yue. She's an excellent employee who can consider issues from the customer's perspective, quickly come up with solutions, and resolve problems efficiently. Although this stay was very satisfying, there's one detail I hope the hotel management pays attention to. There's a sign at the entrance of the executive lounge clearly stating that guests in inappropriate attire or disposable slippers are not allowed. However, during afternoon tea and breakfast, a few guests who disregarded this rule still entered, which certainly affected other guests and made the sign seem pointless.

Our three-night family trip with the kids at the China World Hotel was absolutely wonderful. The quality of everything, from the front desk, rooms, dining, views, and service to the surrounding amenities, was top-notch and made us feel truly at home. The hotel thoughtfully arranged birthday decorations and a cake in the room for the children, which genuinely surprised and delighted them. We were also able to take in panoramic views of the Forbidden City and the stunning Beijing cityscape on a beautiful, clear day – it was breathtaking! A special thanks to the front desk for their kind upgrade service, which made our children's first trip to Beijing, the capital, complete. Thank you, China World Hotel, for being an unparalleled choice for high quality!

The renovated design is stunning, creating a festive and cheerful atmosphere during the Chinese New Year, complete with fish and birds. The lobby is spacious enough for kids to run around, and the pool has a 50cm shallow area perfect for children to splash in. The rooms are large with big beds, and the bathrooms have a separate wet and dry area, kept very clean by frequent housekeeping. The window view overlooks the Yongding River, offering beautiful sunsets. If you purchase the Bud Paradise package, you can visit twice during your stay. There are also outdoor public children's play facilities. Parking is free.

On the downside: Food delivery isn't brought to your room. Since the lobby and guest rooms are in separate buildings, you have to switch elevators on the third floor, which also means robots can't deliver. You have to go down to the first floor to pick up your order yourself. The bar closes at 9:30 PM, earlier than a university study room—who drinks that early? For those with kids, there's absolutely no chance to enjoy a nearby evening drink; it feels like a curfew.

This time, I chose the Shangri-La Shenzhen with my wife, children, and my mother who came from Australia to stay with us, and the overall experience was very satisfying. Many years ago, I frequently stayed at Shangri-La hotels in different countries for work, so I'm very familiar with the brand. I'd always hoped to share this wonderful experience with my family one day, and now that dream has finally come true.

The hotel staff—from the greeters at the entrance, the front desk, lobby security, cleaning team, to the restaurant servers—were all incredibly dedicated, polite, and attentive, making us feel completely at home. The room was clean and comfortable, and the kids had a blast in the pool. It would be even more perfect if they could add a heated pool, as the outdoor weather is still a bit chilly.

The only minor suggestion is that the quality of the restaurant's buffet could be improved. It would be even better if it could reach the five-star standard of Shangri-La buffets in other countries.

Overall, we are very grateful to all the staff at Shangri-La Shenzhen for making this family trip so warm and memorable with their professionalism and passion.

The Futian Shangri-La was an amazing experience! It's located right in the heart of the CBD, so getting around was super convenient. The room was spacious and elegant, and the city view from up high was absolutely stunning. The service was thoughtful and attentive, breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the facilities were excellent. It's perfect for both business trips and leisure, highly recommend!

The day before I checked in, the hotel manager, Wendy, called me to ask about my needs for the stay and sent me the executive lounge benefits and timings, which I really appreciated! 

This time, I stayed in the 270° Executive Bay View Sunset Suite. The 270° floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning views of Shenzhen Bay, the Hong Kong skyline, the Shahe Golf Course, the 'Spring Bamboo' building, and the sunset.

The hotel's breakfast and the executive lounge's food selection were both excellent.

Shangri-La Shenzhen Nanshan is perfect for a relaxing getaway, with beautiful views for photos, a rich dining experience, and great spots for social media-worthy pictures. Highly recommended!
