As someone who frequently stays in hotels, I believe a hotel's quality is primarily measured by the attitude and service of its staff. I booked a city view king room and requested not to be in an end or corner room. The male front desk agent arrogantly told me that all city view king rooms in this hotel are at the ends, and if I wanted a middle room, I should book a river view room next time. He also said that to switch to a middle room now, I would need an upgrade and pay more! After I said a few more things, he reluctantly moved me to a middle room, and it even had a rather '2' (unlucky) room number 🤣. If all city view rooms are indeed at the ends, shouldn't that be clearly stated in the description? As someone who spends more than half a month in five-star hotels every month, I've never encountered such an arrogant hotel service. At other places like JW Marriott or even The Ritz-Carlton (which is also under Marriott), they proactively offer upgrades, and the service is incredibly attentive to detail! To top it off, the sewer in my room started smelling bad at night, and the constant dripping sound from the shower was annoying. I'm blacklisting this hotel forever!

I chose this hotel for my business trip, and my overall experience was very satisfying! The location is excellent; it's just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, and there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making getting around incredibly convenient.

The hotel's exterior is simple yet grand, and the lobby is decorated warmly and comfortably. The front desk staff were enthusiastic and efficient, making both check-in and check-out quick. My room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, ample hot water, and a full set of toiletries, showing great attention to detail.

The breakfast offered a rich variety of options, combining Chinese and Western dishes, with fresh ingredients and good flavors. Additionally, the hotel provides free high-speed Wi-Fi, a gym, and laundry service, making the facilities comprehensive and suitable for both business and leisure needs.

Overall, this is a very high-value-for-money hotel, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit!

I stayed here with my mom for two days. The front desk arranged a room near the elevator. The lake view was excellent, and it was beautiful at night.

We ordered takeout, and the soup spilled, dripping out. The guy ran off quickly. The concierge at the door helped me pack the food in a bag. I was very grateful.

The Chinese restaurant had delicious food, beautiful utensils, and attentive service. The vegetables were a little old and stuck in our teeth. We asked who had floss, and the waiter immediately brought some.

Seriously, who understands this feeling? I was already so over the typical star-rated hotel service, but this Marriott completely reset my expectations, especially with their guest services team and Kiki. They truly embody ”attentive” in their DNA!

First, a nod to the amenities: The room was impeccably clean, not a speck of dust anywhere. The bedding was so soft, it felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the soundproofing was incredible – I couldn't hear any outside noise at all. But what truly made me give five stars was the service that went above and beyond! The guest services team was constantly on point. When I checked in, I casually mentioned wanting a quieter room, and they immediately moved me to a room far from the elevator, also proactively offering tips on local transportation and things to avoid. Later, I needed to print some documents; a quick call, and they were delivered to my room in ten minutes, and they even proofread the formatting for me – talk about professionalism!

Special shout-out to Kiki! She's an absolute gem! Knowing it was my first time in the city, she hand-drew a map of hidden local eateries, even noting which places didn't have long waits and what their secret menu items were. That evening, I felt a bit under the weather, mentioned it in the service chat, and she immediately brought up hot ginger tea and cold medicine, thoughtfully reminding me not to set the AC too low. The most touching part was when I checked out; I accidentally left my power bank in the room and was already at the high-speed train station. Kiki called to say she had secured it for me and asked if I wanted it shipped. She sent it via express delivery that very day, and when I received it, there was even a customized hotel tea bag included – genuinely so heartwarming!

There was no perfunctory service at all; every detail showed genuine care. The professionalism of the guest services team combined with Kiki's attentiveness made this trip incredibly joyful. From now on, whether for business or leisure, Marriott will definitely be my top choice. I've already recommended it to all my friends – you absolutely must experience this feeling of being genuinely looked after!

First the good. The hotel was clean and luxurious, with large bathrooms stocked with essential toiletries. Location was in the Business District of SZ, hence not much of leisure around, but it is close to a popular Bay area with SZ's famed ferris wheel, a cultural centre and youth activity hub within walking distance. Right next door is a dinosaur museum. Large malls are a short 5mins car ride away, along with a complex dedicated to eateries. Service was fast - typically within 3-5mins of sending up requests for additional beddings, towels, toiletries etc.

Now the not so good at all. We had booked and paid for triple sharing adults (more expensive than twin share, dont ask me why) but when we arrived, all amenities were for 2 persons only. While this was made good thereafter by the hotel providing additional usage items for the third person, it left a bad initial impression. This was exacerbated by the fact that there were only 2 single sized beds and there was no way 2 adults could squeeze on one bed with the extra person. With two separate beds, there was no way the room could accommodate a third rollaway bed. There was a tiny couch, but its dimensions were impossible to cater to sleeping  an adult comfortably.

When we were there, there was an international competition going on and i guessed there was an overload on the wifi system. Wifi was truly terrible even for simple text loading. We had wanted to make do with our data roam but unfortunately that too was almost impossible to get a decent signal and speed. The internet reception was barely 4G. This surprised us greatly since SZ was touted to be the technology capital of China, if not the world. Even organisers of the competition itself had to utilise their own paid wifi and VPN so the competition could go on smoothly. Frankly deeply disappointed. It is understandable that the overload of guests caused the lethargic internet speed, but the least the hotel could have done was to anticipate this demand and prepared in advance. This should not be their first rodeo. 

To be fair, one of the hotel managers Carey expressed her deepest apologies (kudos to her), however, damage had been done. She tried to make up for it with small souvenirs and this i guess was her valiant effort of handling customer retention.

Honestly i will recommend this hotel to people if they were there for a business conference that is being held at the hotel itself, but definitely not for a leisure family trip. Even then, manage your expectations accordingly.

An incredibly satisfying 7-day stay! We followed online recommendations and chose Tower B, specifically room 5202, which offered a fantastic view.

While the room facilities were a bit older, this was easily overshadowed by the hotel's impeccable service. From the moment we arrived until we checked out on the last day, their service was top-notch – absolutely flawless. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel entrance, numerous staff members were there to open doors, handle our luggage, and escort us to our room.

Furthermore, the breakfast spread was incredibly rich and diverse, truly offering tastes from all over the world. We stayed for 7 days and never got tired of it.

And the pool, of course, was amazing! Right across from the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, it's perfect for photos.

Even more convenient, there's a shuttle to Dubai Mall every hour, stopping right at the hotel entrance. You can just go upstairs to the Chinese food court, which is super convenient for dining and taking the kids out.

Outside the hotel is Business Bay, which is excellent for an after-dinner stroll. The environment is really pleasant.

We tried two of the hotel's internal restaurants this time, the Thai and the Italian. Both were quite good, no duds there.

All in all, I'm extremely satisfied and would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.
