I had a pleasant stay at Skygate Hotel in Ximending. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of the lively Ximending area, making it easy to explore shops, eateries, and attractions on foot. The amenities are basic but well-maintained, and though the room is small, it’s clean, comfortable, and sufficient for a short stay. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful throughout my visit. Overall, Skygate Hotel is a convenient and welcoming place to stay for anyone looking to enjoy the vibrant energy of Ximending. Highly recommended!

Check-in and check out were very smooth, the snack bar with drinks, snacks, and yogurt were appreciated. Unfortunately, the ice cream machine was broken while I was there. The location is very good and within walking distance of three MRT stations (NTU Hospital/Taipei Main Station/Ximen), as well as the Ximending district. In the room, the TV audio was very low and one day, the bed wasn't made properly, more just the blanket was folded up, but the room includes a mini fridge and a little back massage machine, which was a nice touch. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Taipei.

The hotel's location is super convenient, really close to Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station. Getting around is a breeze, and there are tons of dining and shopping options nearby, including big department stores. The price was reasonable, and the room was clean too. Great value for money overall!

Room was very spacious and had enough natural light. We can also open the window to let the room breathe, so there's no musty smell and old air circulating inside. This the first hotel I've seen with such an extensive selection of free snacks, and amenities! Would definitely book again.

There was a slight misunderstanding on the platform regarding the hotel's opening information for 2024. It might be an older hotel that was refurbished and changed ownership in 2024. Due to a late check-in for a business trip, I chose a windowless economy room. The room, perhaps because it's an affordable and popular option, showed signs of heavy use and the renovation felt a bit superficial, leaving an overall dated impression. While there's no breakfast, they do offer free, simple light meals in the morning. A cup of coffee, a drink, hot soup, and freshly baked bread, combined with a pleasant dining area, somewhat compensated for some of the room's drawbacks.

The location is great for transportation! Parking is convenient (needs phone confirmation). The room was very clean and the facilities were new. The hairdryer was powerful and the bidet toilet was spotless. The TV was huge (at least 70 inches), new, and had Netflix.

The bed was just the right firmness, making for a very comfortable sleep. The recreational area on the first floor offered simple coffee and breakfast, and there were several massage chairs on the second floor. A really well-planned setup!

The only minor drawback was the poor sound insulation between floors (you could hear footsteps from upstairs).

This is a highly recommended hotel, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Zhongli.
