This was our first time in Vietnam, and I'm so glad we chose Mai House Saigon Hotel.
When I emailed them about airport transfer and fast-track immigration services, they patiently explained all the details. The car that picked us up was brand new and completely smoke-free.
Since it was a birthday trip, I asked them to help with some birthday decorations, and they were so kind to provide a bouquet of flowers and a birthday cake for us.
The breakfast selection was quite good, and the Pho was very authentic. The portions were a bit small, so men with bigger appetites might need two servings. There was a wide variety of fruits, and staff politely asked if we wanted another drink after we finished one. They also offer takeaway service.
I especially want to mention one of the staff members who helped with our luggage; he was incredibly polite and friendly. All the staff had excellent service attitudes, which was the most pleasant part of my trip.
The only minor flaw was that after the last room cleaning, we found that the cleaning staff had forgotten to dispose of hair they had cleaned up, leaving it in the toilet.
However, overall it was a very perfect experience. If I come to Ho Chi Minh City again, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

Our stay was for two days, from August 14th. Ho Chi Minh City was very hot, and we arrived at the hotel early, but they promptly showed us to our room. We then headed for afternoon tea at 2 PM. Afterward, we took the hotel's shuttle bus to Ben Thanh Market, where we walked around and bought souvenirs at various shops and a nearby supermarket. We returned to the hotel by Grab and enjoyed a relaxing happy hour with sparkling wine and beer.
Breakfast was served on the second floor. There was a wide variety of dishes, and the chicken pho was so delicious that I even had a second helping of beef pho. All the staff were very kind and accommodating, even though I don't speak English well.

This is a hotel of contradictions.
The facade is impressive. It's centrally located in District 1 near restaurants, shops and the Western quarter. The buffet breakfast selection is pleasing. The room size is generous. Staff are friendly and helpful. There's a forward thinking eco-friendly policy which clearly implemented throughout the hotel.
However, the hotel is let down by some of its facilities. For example, in the bathroom a spa has been placed under a shower head so that when you shower the water runs down the wall and floods across the bathroom floor from one side to the other and in front of the hand basin. The hot and cold water taps turn on in opposite directions and the cold tap is not fitted properly which causes it to move. My children were unable to turn the shower on or off without adult help. The shower head is also too low and my 6 foot husband had to crouch down to shower.
Another problem area is the rooftop pool area. The clear rooptop pool perimeter fence is woefully too low. I watched a child climb out of the pool to the ledge between the pool and the perimeter fence and I was very worried for his safety. One wrong slip or stumble and there's nothing stopping the child from toppling over the edge and 11 floors down.

This place is hard to find even to some locals, and its especially hard for foreigners to come by for the first time. It's a newly building with security at the lobby, and there are shops and restaurants near by which is convenient. However; there is hardly a management of this property, we booked for 4days 3 nights and there were only 4 bottles in total and we had no respond when we required for more water bottles.(good thing is shops are close by.) Secondly, we also had no respond when we requied of house cleaning, we found and killed Cockroaches everyday. Last but not least, the third night of stay hot water running out, I had to take a cold shower. I don't mind taking cold showers in Vietnam's current weather, its just i didnt have an option of hot water makes this stay less worthy.
There are also some pros of this property, the views are good, you get to see the landmark 81 building right outside the window, and some parts of river view. Besides the views, they use good quality bedding appliances (mattresses are great) and electrical appliances(dryer in your closet, you get to hang your wet clothes, sanitize and dry them).

This hotel is perfect for just lying around, relaxing, and doing absolutely nothing.
We stayed in the Aqua Villa. The room was excellent – clean, beautiful, and comfortable.
The private in-room pool had rather warm, even hot, mineral water. The downside was that over the week, the pool was only cleaned once, on the first day. A lot of leaves and flowers fall into the pool.
Breakfasts were excellent.
On weekdays, the hotel was almost empty. It only got busier on weekends.
The grounds are very large and beautiful.
Mineral pools, mud baths, etc., all cost extra! The only free amenities are the general pools (several of them) and the forest for walks.
There's only one restaurant. There are no shops or anything else. You can't rent a motorbike anywhere.
Grab, Maxim, and similar services don't operate here.
You can only get to Binh Chau by taxi – 300,000 VND round trip.
There's absolutely nothing to do in Binh Chau. And everyone stares at Russians like they're some exotic creature. Everyone wants to come up and say 'Hallow'.
Conclusion: If you just want to relax in peace and quiet, do nothing, simply unwind and benefit from the mineral pools and mud baths, this is an excellent option!
If you're looking for hustle and bustle with lots of restaurants, shops, and tourists – this is definitely not the place for you!

Also, it's worth noting that this place is quite far from Vung Tau (over an hour's drive), so it's best for a relaxing stay where you don't plan on leaving the hotel much. Getting to Vung Tau city center can be a bit of a hassle. It mainly attracts Vietnamese locals on holiday, along with some European, American, and Korean tourists. If you're looking to explore Vung Tau city, this location isn't convenient.

On my first night, I checked in quite late and was assigned a low-floor room with a large machine outside the window, which really dampened my mood. I went to the front desk, and they said the hotel was fully booked and asked me to pack up my luggage and switch rooms the next morning. The next morning, I pulled my luggage to the front desk and made my request again. They immediately gave me a room, and wow, it had a river view! My mood instantly improved. I understand there was nothing they could do since I checked in so late and the rooms were full, but the hotel promptly met my request for a room change the next day, and I am extremely, extremely satisfied!!!
In front of the hotel, there's a popular cafe, and behind it is Japan Street (half Japanese, half Korean), with tons of restaurants, spas, and convenience stores – super convenient.

And the service lacks character, the cook does a great job and always fills in what is missing. You can see that he is professional and experienced. And he is also very friendly. But we took sandwiches for the long train ride and I must say that this was the biggest disappointment. Because I did not take a sandwich down to the kitchen for myself, because to get a sandwich from the dining room I am supposed to pay extra. A Truly Memorable Stay
I had a wonderful stay at Liberty Central Saigon Citypoint during my birthday trip to Ho Chi Minh City. From the moment I arrived, the service was warm, attentive and professional. The housekeeping, bell boys, concierge and front desk team were all excellent and made me feel genuinely welcomed throughout my stay.
What touched me most was the thoughtful birthday surprise. 🎂❤️ I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel presented me with a birthday cake during my stay. I truly did not expect it, and although it may seem like a small gesture, it honestly made my day. I really appreciated the effort and thoughtfulness behind it.

The room is quite nice and spacious. I particularly liked the lighting design – no main overhead light, just softer side lighting. The staff provided excellent service, always greeting us with a smile. It was also pretty quiet at night, making for a peaceful sleep. However, I do feel it was a bit pricey. While walking around was an option, it could be a bit tiring. I rarely leave bad reviews, but this time I really can't hold back. I'm going to give an objective, unbiased account of my experience below.
The only pro: I booked this hotel specifically for the rooftop pool, which was hyped everywhere online. It's genuinely impressive for Ho Chi Minh City – high up with an expansive view, offering a direct panoramic vista of the entire city. It's definitely picture-perfect.
Ridiculous cons:
1. On the day of check-in, my friend suddenly had an upset stomach around noon. We asked the hotel for a glass of water and were flat-out refused, simply because we hadn't officially checked in yet. They wouldn't even meet a basic emergency need.
2. Our red-eye flight was delayed by 2 hours due to weather, meaning we didn't take off until almost dawn. I thought I'd just extend our stay for another night and head to the airport in the early morning to avoid being too exhausted. So I booked another night through a different platform, hoping to just keep our current room and avoid the hassle of moving. The front desk flat-out refused and then, out of nowhere, assumed we were going to cram three children into one room. In reality, I only had one child; the parents of the other two children had already booked a hotel near the airport and wouldn't be staying with us at all. They wouldn't listen to any explanation.
3. The room only came with two small 300ml bottles of water. After finishing them, I asked for two more, and the staff immediately refused, without any flexibility whatsoever. My friend drank an extra 300ml bottle in her room, and they even charged her for it during checkout.
When you go on vacation and stay in a hotel, you're looking for convenience and peace of mind. Instead, we hit roadblocks every step of the way. This kind of service truly doesn't live up to its 'influencer hot spot' reputation!FromSEK 891

A quaint and cosy hotel in a good location, walking distance to Saigon Centre, Saigon Square, Ben Thanh Market, Bookstreet and Vincom Centre. Room is spacious but can have more lighting. Sound proofing is not very good as we can hear an elderly couple quarreling on our 2nd night at a building rooftop near the hotel. Made a remark in my booking on our wedding anniversary and hotel made the effort to design the bed. There were issues with the aircon before we checked in and we were offered drinks on their 10th floor cafe (which served hi-tea for guest daily). Hotel breakfast spread is good, mix of local food and intercontinental breakfast. Overall good for the location and breakfast selection.FromSEK 968
