I used this eSIM for a two-country trip through Singapore and Indonesia, and it worked really well throughout. Setup was quick — I had the QR code scanned and activated within minutes, no need to hunt for a physical SIM counter at the airport.
Speeds were consistently good in Singapore, easily handling maps, video calls, and streaming. In Indonesia, coverage held up well even outside the main tourist areas, with only minor dips in more remote spots, which is pretty normal for the region.
Switching between countries was seamless — no manual reconfiguring needed, and I never lost signal during transit. Battery drain was normal, and I didn't run into any of the overheating or connectivity drop issues I've had with other eSIMs.
What is an Indonesia eSIM and How Does It Work?
An Indonesia eSIM is a virtual, software-based profile that replaces the traditional micro- or nano-plastic SIM cards. Instead of physically inserting hardware into your smartphone slot, you simply download an encrypted digital file directly to your phone's built-in cellular chip.
Once installed, your smartphone communicates directly with local mobile phone towers across Indonesia, allowing you to access local high-speed data without swapping cards or losing your primary home phone number.
Top Providers of Indonesia eSIM Options
Multiple international platforms and localized providers offer competitive digital data connections across the country:
- Global Travel Platforms (Trip.com): Popular choices for easy mobile apps, flexible top-up options, and fast automated delivery.
- Local Telecom Networks (Telkomsel / Indosat Ooredoo / XL Axiata): Major domestic carriers. International eSIM providers usually partner with these networks to deliver top coverage. Telkomsel offers by far the widest coverage across remote islands like Komodo or Nusa Penida.
Indonesia eSIM vs. Physical SIM vs. Portable Wi-Fi

Deciding how to stay connected while traveling across 17,000 islands? Here is how the main connectivity choices compare:
Feature | Indonesia eSIM | Physical Tourist SIM | Portable Pocket Wi-Fi |
Setup Time | < 3 minutes online | 30–60 min airport queues | Require pickup/return desks |
IMEI Registration | Skipped entirely | Strict passport/IMEI checks | Not applicable |
Hardware Management | 100% digital | Need to swap out tiny SIM cards | Must charge an extra power bank device |
Dual-SIM Support | Active (Keep home line on) | Replaces your original home SIM | Connects via local Wi-Fi |
How to Set Up and Use an Indonesia eSIM

Ready to get connected in Indonesia? Setting up an eSIM is super quick and easy. Here is a simple step-by-step guide to get you up and running in just a few minutes.
Step 1: Check Your Phone First
Before buying your plan, make sure your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked:
- iPhone Users: Go to Settings > General > About > Look for "Carrier Lock". It should say "No SIM restrictions".
- Android Users: Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks to check for eSIM options.
- Quick Trick: Open your phone dialer and type *#06#. If you see an EID number listed, your phone is ready to go!

Step 2: Pick Your Perfect Plan
Head over to Trip.com and choose a plan that matches your travel schedule:
- Short Stay: Staying a week in Bali? Grab a 7-day plan.
- Island Hopping: Travelling longer? Opt for a 15-day or 30-day option.
- Data Tip: Most travelers do great with 1 GB per day for maps, social media, and messaging.

Step 3: Get Your Setup Details
Once you purchase, Trip.com will email you everything you need:
- A QR code to scan for installation
- Simple step-by-step instructions
- Your plan activation details
Important Tip: Make sure you install your eSIM while connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before you leave!

Step 4: Installation Time
Setting up your profile takes less than two minutes:
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings on your phone.
- Go to Cellular / Mobile Data (iPhone) or SIM Manager (Android).
- Tap Add eSIM or Add Data Plan.
- Scan the QR code sent to your email.
- If a pop-up appears saying "Welcome to Billion Connect!", tap OK.
Quick Tip: Rename your new eSIM label to "Indonesia" or "Travel Data" so it is easy to spot later!

Step 5: Get Connected Upon Arrival
When your flight lands in Indonesia, do these 3 quick things:
- Turn ON your new Indonesia eSIM line.
- Set it as your Primary Mobile Data line.
- Turn Data Roaming ON for your Indonesia line.

Direct Setup: Trip.com Indonesia eSIM Activation Without QR Codes

You no longer need a secondary device or printed paper to scan a QR code.
Most leading travel platforms now support 1-Click Direct Installation. By using the provider’s official mobile app, simply tap "Install Plan" on your smartphone. The app automatically configures the network settings in the background without needing manual code entries.
Essential Tips on How to Choose the Right Indonesia eSIM

Keep these critical travel factors in mind when selecting your plan:
- Destinations & Coverage: If you are staying in popular hubs like Seminyak, Canggu, or Jakarta, any major carrier network works well. However, if you plan to visit Nusa Penida, Flores, or remote dive sites, choose a plan that utilizes the Telkomsel network for maximum coverage.
- Data Volume: Scootering around Bali using live GPS navigation and ordering rides via Gojek or Grab uses roughly 500 MB to 1 GB per day. Pick a 10 GB+ plan for a 10–14 day trip to give yourself plenty of headroom.
Useful Apps & Services Accessible with an Indonesia eSIM
Having uninterrupted data active as soon as you touch down unlocks instant access to local transport and lifestyle services:
- Ride-Hailing & Food Delivery: Book scooter rides, cars, or food deliveries instantly via Gojek and Grab.
- Navigation & Travel: Access offline and live route navigation on Google Maps or Apple Maps, essential when driving rental scooters in Bali.
- Communication & Payments: Chat with tour guides and villas on WhatsApp, or check conversion rates on financial apps like Wise or Revolut.
Major Pros and Cons of Using an Indonesia eSIM
Before making your purchase, weigh these main advantages and considerations:
The Pros:
- Skip strict physical SIM registration rules and long airport lines upon arrival.
- Keep your original physical SIM card active in your phone to receive bank verification OTP codes from home.
- Instantly switch network lines upon landing.
The Cons:
- Requires a stable internet connection (e.g., home Wi-Fi or airport Wi-Fi) during initial installation.
- Most digital travel packages are data-only, meaning they do not include a local Indonesian landline phone number for standard local calls or SMS.

Nusa Dua Bali|16.74km from city centre
During my stay, the room linens weren't changed promptly (even with daily tips), and I encountered some hygiene issues with them. This was eventually resolved through Ctrip, but it did affect my overall experience. Aside from that, the hotel's service and facilities were good. The 'Lazy River' was a hit with the kids, though it was a bit short. The gym was very clean, and while the equipment was mostly fixed machines, it was sufficient for a regular workout. The restaurant didn't have air conditioning (which is common in Bali, and it wasn't too hot), so there were a lot of flies (also a common Bali phenomenon). There was a wide variety of food, and the rose apples were good, but other fruits were just average. Next time I visit, I'll still choose a hotel in the Nusa Dua area (it's safe, has a good environment, and is convenient for dining, shopping, transportation, and hospitals), but it might not necessarily be the Courtyard.FromTHB 3,578

Ubud Bali|22.98km from city centre
This is a premium hotel far outside of Ubud center. Be aware you are about 30 minutes from Ubud if you stay here and there really isn't much to do in the immediate area besides stare at the jungle. Staff was outstanding here with frequent greetings by name and remembering you like a Ritz Carlton.
Because I enjoy regular outings I actually found the location quite inconvenient as an hour a day would have to be devoted just to getting to and from Ubud.
The room I got was enormous and included a dining room, sitting room, bedroom, large bathroom. The in room amenities were great including a free restocking mini bar with snacks (no alcohol) and a large smart TV. The bed was huge, soft, and comfortable.
The bathtub was a downside as it was quite small by western standards (not as small as a japanese tub though). I'm not a very big individual at 173cm and I felt it was too narrow and not long enough. Perhaps suitable for petite individuals only. Be aware of that if like me and many Americans you prefer baths over showers.
The property is very large and you will likely want to regularly use the phone to request the on site golf cart shuttles to get around it as otherwise you will spend much of your time walking uphill from the rooms to the amenities near the entrance like the restaurant and pool.FromTHB 3,014

Jimbaran Bali|14.95km from city centre
I recently stayed at the InterContinental Bali Resort and found the resort’s layout, grounds, and facilities to be excellent. The property is beautifully maintained and provides a pleasant and relaxing environment for guests.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was significantly affected by an issue I encountered on the second night of my stay. I was unable to sleep due to a strong and unpleasant smell coming from the pillows and bedding. The odor was similar to that of a room that had been left unused for an extended period.
At approximately 3:40 a.m., I contacted the hotel for assistance. While the staff responded promptly and replaced the pillows, I was informed that the smell was “normal,” which I found disappointing and concerning. The following day, I reported the matter to the receptionist, who kindly apologized for the inconvenience.
Regrettably, after this experience, I developed a severe cold and fever, which negatively affected the remainder of my stay. While I appreciate the apology and acknowledge the many positive aspects of the resort, I believe greater attention should be given to room freshness, bedding quality, and the handling of guest concerns, particularly when they impact a guest’s comfort and well-being.
I hope this feedback will be taken constructively and help improve the experience for future guests.FromTHB 6,726

I recently stayed at Alaya Resort Ubud during my trip to Bali, and I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience. The hotel perfectly embodies the Balinese style, with a very comfortable environment that immediately puts you in a relaxed, holiday mood as soon as you step in.
The room was spacious and very clean, with a simple yet locally-inspired design that made for a very comfortable stay. What I loved most was being surrounded by lush greenery; waking up to that view really brightened my mood.
The pool area is beautiful and meticulously maintained, perfect for unwinding. The breakfast selection was extensive and tasty, allowing for a leisurely start to each day.
What truly stood out was the staff. Every single person was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, providing thoughtful service from check-in to check-out, which significantly enhanced my entire trip.
The location is also very convenient, with many restaurants nearby. The in-house massage spa is excellent, and guests get a 20% discount on treatments.
Overall, this was one of my favorite hotels from my Bali trip. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Ubud. Highly recommended!FromTHB 5,035

Sense hotel's location was very quite easy to go anywhere. Its located nearby local supermarket, seminyak beach, Babi guling Pak Malen, Babi guling Pak Genyol, Popella gellato ice cream, Krishna, etc. The room was very clean, Aircon worked very well. The room got hot water for shower inside bathroom, but they don't have any hairdryer, and fridge inside. The wifi wasn't worked at all, and Its a bit hard to find my phone's signal, when I slept inside the room. They said they will fixed it, but its still not fixed. Prama Sanur Beach Bali is an established resort offering great value for money. Its biggest draw is the private beachfront, perfect for catching stunning sunrises, cycling, and enjoying water sports right from the hotel. The pool is large and surrounded by lush greenery. However, since the hotel has been around for a while, the rooms and bathrooms show their age. Overall, it's a good choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize a wide range of facilities and relaxing sea views, and aren't overly particular about the newest amenities.FromTHB 2,904

We like the hotel and we had pleasant stay. The pool and the room were very good. The door to the balcony couldn’t close but after contacting reception , they sent staff come to fixit straight away.
The night we stay was Tuesday. The hotel had buffet dinner with dance. We heard the music from the pool and went there for dinner. They said that if will be until 10PM. But when we agreed to come, buffet almost gone, I asked few time why no more food? They asked what I want they will make. Thats not the way buffet supposes to be.
And the music and dance often break very long. Form when I joined until I nearly full, no music or dance. I asked the man who stayed outside to invite customers in: what’s giọng on?
He went to ask them to play music. But the dancers only started after 10 minutes. They danced 10 minutes and break again.
I was very upset. That night was my last night in Bali.
The next morning breakfast buffet was much nicer.
I hope the hotel can manage the dance better to let customers enjoy. And FYI, that night music and dance finished at 8:30PM. Not 10PM like they told me. I posted some photos with full of food and some empty for your reference . thanFromTHB 1,457

Seminyak Bali|6.77km from city centre
We stayed at D’prima Hotel Seminyak for 3 nights during a shopping-focused trip, and the location was exactly what we needed — right in the center of Seminyak with easy access to shops, cafes, and everything within walking distance. The room was spacious with a very large, comfortable bed, which made it easy to relax after long days out. The hotel is not new and you can notice this in details like the bathroom fixtures and some general wear, but everything was clean and overall comfortable. For the price, it’s a solid budget-friendly option in a great area, especially if you plan to spend most of your time exploring rather than staying at the hotel. If you’re looking for a simple, well-located place to sleep while enjoying Seminyak, this is a good choice.FromTHB 738

beyond expectations 🤍
Everything about this hotel was exceptional, especially considering the price range compared to other hotels in the area. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed with their kindness, professionalism, and warm smiles. The service was outstanding in every detail.
The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. Housekeeping was excellent, and the whole hotel had a clean, relaxing atmosphere. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had such peaceful sleep every night.
The breakfast was easily 10/10 😍
Great variety, fresh food every day, delicious options for both adults and children, and everything was presented beautifully. Even the coffee and juices were excellent.
The pool area was amazing ,clean, relaxing, and perfect for families. The hotel is also very family-friendly overall, with such a safe and comfortable environment for children. The staff were incredibly sweet and caring with kids, which made the experience even better for our family.
The location is also perfect: close to everything in Kuta while still feeling peaceful and quiet inside the hotel.
Honestly, compared to other hotels in the same price range around the area, Bintang Kuta deserves a true 10/10 Outstanding rating. It genuinely feels like a much more expensive hotel because of the quality of service, cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail.
You can clearly feel that the management and staff truly care about the guests and work with passion and professionalism. We would absolutely stay here again without hesitation 🌟FromTHB 1,247

Kuta Bali|11km from city centre
The room was too humid, probably due to the air conditioning, making both the floor and bedding damp. I had to ask for towels to lay on the floor and a new comforter. The soundproofing isn't great, but it was fine for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good, with plenty of eggs. It's a 10-minute drive from the airport and they offer a shuttle service. There's a small supermarket, massage, and currency exchange right next to the hotel, which is much better than the airport's, so that was convenient.
There's a pool, a large lawn, and it's close to the beach, though the beach itself was a bit dirty and messy. You can watch planes land from the beach.
I booked an airport transfer for the next morning and confirmed it twice, being told it was all set. However, when I went down early to wait for the car, it wasn't there. Luckily, I went down early enough that the front desk was able to call a temporary ride.FromTHB 1,701

Ubud Bali|18.62km from city centre
For my second hotel in Bali, I chose the Element by Westin Ubud. Given that Bali is famous for its rainforests in addition to its beaches, and Ubud is the heart of terraced rice paddies, rainforests, and traditional architecture, I opted for a hotel there. However, I won't be staying at this property again.
**Service:**
The staff are mostly young and energetic, with good attitudes. However, my overall experience was just mediocre, mainly due to two issues:
1. During check-in, they recommended a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. I paid by topping up an account, but then they told me they had no change. It took several phone calls the night before departure to finally get my change back.
2. The Chinese dinner itself was also a letdown. The food selection was limited and even less extensive than the breakfast. Plus, drinks had to be purchased separately. For a buffet at this price point, it was quite unacceptable.
**Location:**
The hotel is quite secluded, about a 40-minute walk from the heart of Ubud. Taking a taxi takes roughly the same amount of time due to heavy traffic. The surroundings are very isolated, so I wouldn't recommend it.
It's a 20-minute drive to the rice terraces.
**Facilities:**
1. I initially booked a pool access room based on pictures, expecting it to be right outside my door. However, upon arrival, I discovered a significant gap: the room was on the same floor as the pool, but I still had to walk a fair distance to reach it. The photos were misleading.
2. The bathroom lacked body lotion and a weighing scale. For a five-star hotel, this felt a bit underwhelming and not quite up to par.
3. Furthermore, some rooms had issues with their sinks, indicating a lack of proper maintenance.FromTHB 3,717

Jimbaran Bali|14.1km from city centre
Let's start with the positives: this hotel boasts a fantastic pool with sea views and stunning sunsets. The location is great, just a 5-minute walk to the beach. It's also a quick 15-minute taxi ride to the airport. Breakfasts are good, and the coffee is tasty. And that's pretty much where the good stuff ends.
Now for the negatives: the rooms are very old and in desperate need of renovation. They're also dirty, with stains everywhere. There are no balconies, and the windows don't open. Nothing dries in the room, and due to poor ventilation, clothes actually get damp overnight. The soundproofing is terrible; you can hear everyone yelling in the hallway. The air conditioning units hum very loudly; our first night was awful because, in addition to the humming, there was also vibration – it was impossible to sleep. Even though we requested a quiet room, we were told it *was* quiet. They did change our room to a junior suite, which was clean and well-renovated. The AC unit still hummed in that one, but it was less noticeable due to the room's larger size. Toothbrushes, cotton swabs, and shower caps are only provided once upon check-in and are not replaced.
If you're looking for a European feel rather than something akin to Anapa, do not choose this hotel. Most guests here are Russians on tour packages.
I would only recommend this hotel for a one or two-night stay before a flight.FromTHB 1,462

This is the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at. I'd give it 6 stars, it's absolutely gorgeous and amazing everywhere! There are plenty of places to walk around, and you can use the bus to get between the cafes, the beach, and other parts of the hotel complex.
The only downsides were that swimming in the sea wasn't allowed, and there was a lot of Asian food at breakfast. The desserts were a bit underwhelming, or maybe I just didn't find the good ones. We ended up having breakfast at Dava, near the villa residence, where they have fantastic à la carte breakfasts. It cost roughly the same as the main breakfast areas, but there were no crowds and everything was served by a waiter.FromTHB 10,009

Amazing and flawless 10/10 stay at The Westin Ubud Bali.
From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is pure serenity—nestled in a lush rainforest setting with a breathtaking centrepiece infinity pool that feels like it’s floating in the clouds amongst the serine jungle. It’s the kind of place where you instantly slow down and just breathe and experience a place you can relax, be well and rise every day feeling better than the next.
The food is exceptional across the board—thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and consistently delicious. Every meal felt like a highlight and Sebastian takes pride and care with his team and the high food quality standards.
What truly sets this property apart, though, is the passionate Westin associates that Go Beyond! The entire team operates at an incredibly high level, and it shows in every interaction. A special thank you to General Manager Saraswati, whose hands-on leadership is evident everywhere; you can feel how much she genuinely cares about both guests and her team.
Darma at the lobby bar is a standout… his attention to detail and craftsmanship behind the bar made every visit memorable. Yana ensures the restaurants runs like clockwork, delivering a smooth, polished, and faultless dining experience every time. And Arta and Crisna—your work ethic and standards are simply outstanding. You consistently go above and beyond in a way that truly elevates the entire property.
Cleanliness is absolutely next level—impeccable in every possible way with an amazing housekeeping team.

I had a pleasant stay at Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center and would happily recommend it to others visiting Denpasar. The hotel is centrally located, making it a great base for both business and leisure activities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, always ready to assist with a smile. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the essential amenities provided. I especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a generous variety of both local and international dishes. The hotel’s facilities, including the swimming pool and meeting rooms, were well-maintained and added to the overall experience. For the price, Aston Denpasar offers great value and a welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to staying here again on my next trip to Bali.FromTHB 669

Great experience overall and compliments to all staff who have great service, coupled with nice and comfortable villa. Special shoutout to staff name Nilam from front office who has been very helpful from day 1 and throughout our stay also. Breakfast was also great with brunch and ala-carte style so just enjoy the service and great food. Enjoyed the unique experience in seven painting restaurant (although food taste and quality could be improved) and the Svaha spa experience was excellent. Highly recommended if ur looking to stay in the UBUD areaFromTHB 4,930

The hotel's location is excellent. It's only about a ten-minute scooter ride from Finns Beach Club. There's a convenient store right outside, which is super handy for grabbing anything you need. Parking is easy. Plus, there are staff members at the entrance who help stop traffic so guests can cross the road safely.FromTHB 893

Reception was a little busy upon arrival and made me wait for a couple of hours the until check-in to 2pm, my room was excellent style and big, sadly with no balcony or view onto a very busy and noisy road, and Indonesia is dose it's best to create nose, so next time I have to book a pool view room to get away from the very noisy main road, there's a lovely bathroom and separate toilet, also a bath with TV, the main TV was excellent and I could log into my Netflix account to watch all my favourite programmes, breakfast time is very good with plenty of choice, i will come back and book a pool view room next timeFromTHB 544

It is a convenient location as it is not so far from airport and I arrived at midnight so I booked to stay there before heading to another hotel in Ubud. However, it is really noisy in the early morning with the kids swimming in the pools if you prefer less crowded and quiet, I won’t recommend this place.FromTHB 584

The cliffside infinity pool offers stunning views of the rainforest terraces and valleys, with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets – perfect for incredible photos.
Enjoy ultimate privacy in a secluded rainforest villa, quiet and peaceful, far from the hustle and bustle of Ubud.
The butler service is attentive, there's a 24-hour front desk, free city shuttle, professional spa, and the floating breakfast is amazing.
The rooms are spacious, with Zen-inspired Balinese decor, clean, tidy, and have excellent terrace views.
Forest yoga and rice field trekking provide a healing and relaxing experience, making it ideal for a romantic honeymoon.
Be aware of mosquitoes and geckos: it's inevitable in a rainforest villa, and you might occasionally find small lizards indoors, so definitely come prepared with mosquito repellent.FromTHB 2,520

My first impression of the hotel was that it felt less like a hotel and more like a small city. The place is incredibly spacious, and the surroundings are stunning and eye-catching. The hotel service is excellent, and the staff are very friendly. The main pool is large, and there's also a children's pool. The hotel has several restaurants, all with beautiful settings and a wide variety of food. The complimentary yoga classes are also quite rigorous and professional.FromTHB 13,766

This hotel is a very good choice 👍🏼 I am a little picky, but here’s my review:
Pros:
✅ No damp smell, well ventilated ( I was worried about this)
✅ No insects in the room. There might be some geckos 🦎 (which is normal and expected) but I didn’t see any.
✅ Very clean in general
✅ Comfortable bed
✅ The service is amazing
✅ The staff is very friendly and helpful
✅ The breakfast is very good, there are plenty of choices.
✅ Their restaurant is also very good, in case you don’t want to go out of the resort.
✅ The vibe at the beach is nice and if you like water sports it is also good.
✅ The pool is huge and very nice
✅ Reasonable price (but it will depend on the season and demand)
Cons:
😑 Sound proof can be better, one can hear everyone from the pool (the sound enters from the main door)
😑 The beach is not the best for swimming, and is a bit dirty in general (not the hotel’s fault)
😑 The gym can be better as there are only 3 machines (spinning, treadmill and elliptical) the dumbbells are fine
✅😄 Overall, recommended! I was happy with my stay at this hotel!
It is good to give it a try!FromTHB 3,642

Here’s a more natural and polished version of your review:
We love Mövenpick Hotels, even though we don’t have kids yet. If you’re looking for a family-friendly retreat with plenty of fun activities for children and an amazing pool experience, this is the perfect hotel. The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel provides a complimentary buggy to the beach every hour. Alternatively, it’s only a 5–10 minute walk.
Our only disappointment was the Chocolate Hour, which is a signature experience at Mövenpick Hotels. Unfortunately, it was the least impressive Chocolate Hour we’ve experienced compared to other Mövenpick properties.
Everything else was excellent, and we had a wonderful stay.FromTHB 4,486

We booked a king room with lagoon access and was upgraded to a suite (Thank you Andaz, was a lovely surprise). We had a beautiful, clean and spacious room with a massive patio that backed onto a lagoon connected to the main pool with a sea view. It felt like paradise. There were toads croaking after the rain. We saw cockatoos and many other kinds of bird. Bird sang every morning. We even a monitor lizard swimming in the spa’s lily pond. This place is bathed in nature. Service was friendly and warm from top notch staff. The turndown service every evening was a special touch, and the grounds were immaculately kept! There were almost always staff working away to keep the grounds pristine and lush. We really like the hotel’s layout where it seems (to us) that all rooms provide a good level of privacy and some kind of a view, be it lush beautiful gardens, pool or the beach. Lastly, the à la carte unlimited breakfast was what brought us here (from the flip flop traveller, iykyk) and it did not disappoint. What an amazing treat! Andaz Bali is truly a gem.FromTHB 12,240

Ubud Bali|19.1km from city centre
Overall, this hotel is a classic five-star establishment with a sense of history. Its location next to the Ayung River is excellent, but compared to some ultra-luxury hotels, the facilities might seem relatively simple and not as extensive as one might expect.
In terms of design, it's clear the hotel has some age, yet its overall style leans towards an elegant, sophisticated old-money aesthetic. It doesn't feel outdated; instead, it exudes a timeless sense of understated luxury.
The dining experience was good, with the Japanese restaurant being a particular highlight—the food was delicious. However, while the breakfast offered a combination of à la carte and buffet options, providing sufficient choices, the variety wasn't particularly abundant, and the taste didn't quite meet my high standards.
What truly impressed me the most was the service. Among all the hotels I've stayed in, this one's service is arguably the best and most ceremonial to date.
Every single staff member was incredibly enthusiastic, meticulous, and genuinely cared for the guests, making you feel treated like a king or queen.
As for the hardware, it's standard high-end five-star configuration—nothing overly surprising, but certainly above expectations.FromTHB 46,943

Superb hotel, pleasant stay. Breakfast is delicious. Enough variety and great flavour. Good coffee too. Room is nice and as seen on pics, only need mild refurbishment. FAQs about Indonesia eSIM
-
Which eSIM is best for Indonesia?
The best Indonesia eSIM depends on your trip duration and data needs. For most Indian tourists, plans backed by Telkomsel offer the widest national coverage, including remote islands. If you need data for 7 days, a 5GB–10GB Telkomsel-backed eSIM plan is ideal. For longer stays or heavy usage, consider an unlimited data eSIM plan, which typically offers up to 3GB of full-speed data per day before throttling. Always compare plan validity, data allowance, and carrier coverage before purchasing. -
Can I get an Indonesia eSIM from India before my trip?
Yes, absolutely. One of the biggest advantages of an Indonesia eSIM is that you can purchase and install it from India before you even board your flight. After purchase, you receive a QR code via email. You scan this code to install the eSIM profile on your phone. The eSIM will then activate automatically once your device connects to an Indonesian network upon arrival. This means you can step off the plane at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport and be online immediately. -
Will my Indian SIM card still work alongside the Indonesia eSIM?
Yes. If your smartphone supports eSIM, it almost certainly supports dual SIM functionality — one physical SIM and one eSIM simultaneously. This means you can keep your Indian SIM (Jio, Airtel, or Vi) active for receiving calls, WhatsApp messages, and bank OTPs, whilst the Indonesia eSIM handles all your data needs in Indonesia. Simply set the eSIM as your preferred data line in your phone's settings. -
What is the disadvantage of using an eSIM for Indonesia?
While Indonesia eSIMs are highly convenient, there are a few limitations to be aware of. First, eSIMs do not support voice calls or an Indonesian phone number unless specifically stated in the plan — most tourist eSIMs are data-only. Second, unlimited plans are subject to fair-use throttling (typically slowed to 128kbps after 3GB of high-speed data per day). Third, eSIMs cannot be physically transferred between devices. Finally, if you lose or damage your phone, reinstalling the eSIM on a new device may require contacting customer support. -
What is the best SIM card option for tourists visiting Indonesia?
For tourists visiting Indonesia, an eSIM is widely considered the most convenient option as it can be purchased online before departure, requires no physical SIM swap, and activates instantly on arrival. However, if you prefer a physical SIM with a local Indonesian number for calls, Telkomsel's Tourist SIM (available at Bali and Jakarta airports) is a popular choice for its wide 4G/5G coverage. For Indian travellers specifically, an eSIM is recommended as it allows you to retain your Indian SIM for calls and OTPs simultaneously. -
Can I use my Indonesia eSIM as a mobile hotspot?
Yes, most Indonesia eSIM data plans support mobile hotspot (tethering), allowing you to share your Indonesian internet connection with other devices such as a laptop or tablet. However, hotspot functionality is generally available on fixed-data plans (e.g., 1GB, 5GB, 10GB) rather than some unlimited plans, where hotspot usage may be restricted or count towards the daily high-speed data threshold. Always check the specific plan terms before purchasing if hotspot use is important to you. -
Does an Indonesia eSIM work across all Indonesian islands, including Bali, Lombok, and Komodo?
Coverage varies by carrier. Telkomsel-backed eSIM plans generally offer the broadest coverage across Indonesia, including major tourist islands like Bali, Lombok, and Flores (gateway to Komodo National Park), as well as urban centres like Jakarta and Yogyakarta. XL Axiata and Indosat Ooredoo are strong in populated areas but may have weaker signals in remote regions. For travel to less-visited islands or national parks, a Telkomsel-backed plan is recommended for the most reliable connectivity.
