I recommend this hotel, not because of its warm service – in fact, I was quite dissatisfied with the front desk staff, who were expressionless throughout and didn't seem friendly or welcoming. However, the hotel offers great value for money and is just a stone's throw from the Zoological and Botanical Gardens, making it incredibly convenient for getting to Central. I was staying in the Kai Tak area of Kowloon and only chose to stay here for one night specifically to visit the gardens, and it was the right choice – the price was affordable and the room size was suitable. However, I do think Hong Kong hotels should learn from their Japanese counterparts; since it's a service industry, a warm and friendly attitude is always necessary. Even if it's just for a few minutes, they should at least pretend! It's no wonder my friends choose to fly directly to Japan for holidays instead of Hong Kong; it truly has a lot to do with the quality and attitude of Hong Kong hotels. Compared to the slippers provided by the hotel and the ones I brought myself, it's as if Hong Kong hotels provide nothing at all... All in all, I would recommend this hotel to friends, and I hope that next time I see the front desk staff, they will combine professionalism with a smile – the two are not mutually exclusive.

Great location, not far from the underground. The hotel is pretty clean, rooms are big and there is everything you may need during your trip. The ladies at the reception desk are kind and friendly. We enjoyed our stay and do recommend the hotel if you're looking for a place to stay in Hong Kong.

First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff at Bishop Lei International House. They treat you like family, and I felt right at home. When I emailed the reservations department to ask to store my luggage at the hotel a day in advance, they readily agreed without any extra charge, which touched me deeply. However, the hotel is located at the junction of the central and western parts of the Mid-Levels on Hong Kong Island. Getting to the hotel from Sheung Wan and Central requires climbing some hills. Coupled with the location delay of Google Maps, this often made me get lost in the vicinity.
Secondly, I have a very special connection with this hotel: it opened at the same time as me, my surname is also LEI, I am a devout Catholic, and the hotel is owned by the Hong Kong Catholic Church.
I want to say Thank you again, Ms. Aki Wan, for replying to my email promptly. Thank you to the service team at Bishop Lei International House. I wish you all good health and success in your work. May the Virgin Mary bless you!多謝你哋嘅照顧同埋真切關心我架,獅子山精神永不滅!

First time in this hotel and I am pretty impressed. By HK standard pricing, is reasonable with the size of the room. Not spacious but just enough room to maneuver around the bed. Love the bay window sitting area looking out the window. Surprisingly they offer complimentary good coffee either at the reception or 4th floor Breeezy Lounge. Staff are friendly and efficient. Location is great and walking distance from the AirPort Express.

This hotel definitely exceeded my expectations! For a price over HKD 1,000, I was expecting a tiny room in Hong Kong, but to my surprise, it was a suite. It had a living room with a sofa, coffee table, and dining table, and the bedroom had a super large bed. Plus, all the details in the bathroom were very clean.
The hotel staff were very nice, and their Mandarin was good. Breakfast was semi-buffet style, where you could order one set meal, and all four I tried were delicious. You could even see parrots flying outside the window while having breakfast.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its convenient location. It's about two bus stops from Admiralty Station (or walkable, really), a 200-meter walk from the Peak Tram Macdonnell Road Station, and within walking distance of Hong Kong Park and Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Highly recommend!

Excellent team at front desk. Helped with paying for taxi when phone wasn't working. Located in Sheung Wan which is further from Central where we normally stay. Central is a 10 min walk away. Stayed on a weekend and area was quiet. Schragels bagels across the road is amazing for New York style bagels. They supply all the high end hotels.
Room was large for Hong Kong. The function of the spaces were good, a lounge with bench and table and out of view kitchenette galley - serves more as a serviced apartment than a hotel. Suits us fine. No frills.
Bed was extremely comfortable. Linen was excellent. Great pillows.
Wardrobe, whilst large, didn't have hangers and only one robe. We kept our suitcases in the lounge which took up a lot of space. 2 night stay and didn't see the point of unpacking.
Bathroom marble is beautiful. High impact for small space. However, function of handles and doors is challenging. We got fingers pinched on bathroom door, shower door, wardrobe doors...unfortunately it's design over function and comfort in this regard.
One note, there is no cool/cold water from the sink faucets in kitchen or bathroom.
Mailen + Goetz shower amenities super lovely. Small difference that elevated our stay. Wish towels were as luxe as the bedding.
I would stay again as the value was there and this area is a combination of commercial and residential so you do get relief on weekends from crowds. Antique street and good restaurants and cafes in the area.
We used the laundry facility and it was clean and machines were excellent. Hong Kong is hot. You will need to wash your clothes.
View is great. Easy to get an Uber. Gym was compact, clean and functional.

This hotel is in the middle of the party street so if you are looking for great location for night terraces this is it! Attractions are close by. The view from the room is great, the room is big, clean, the beds are very comfortable. Everything on hand, reception open all night, very helpful. Great location! I love the vibe of Central and Sheung Wan, which is why I always stay here. It's usually good value for money, but I didn't sleep well this time. The room was not soundproofed at all. The people in the next room were talking loudly and even blow-drying their hair at 1 AM. It sounded like there were three or four of them making a lot of noise.

AAnonymous UserTraveling with family, we chose the family room at this hotel, which had one large and one small bed, enough for 2 adults and 2 children. The room was small but well-appointed, and canned mineral water was provided. The air conditioning was very strong. It's a 5-minute walk from Wan Chai MTR Exit C, an 8-minute walk to catch the tram, a 15-minute walk to the Star Ferry, and a 5-minute walk to the airport bus stop. The transportation is incredibly convenient. If I come to Hong Kong again in the future, I'll definitely consider staying here.
YYas_miniThis was my second time staying at the hotel. And I was glad to see the upgraded an refreshed the towels. The hotel itself and room itself is kept well. The bathroom is clean and tidy. Only the half shower door isn’t very practical and all the water still goes out.
The rain shower was broken in my room.
The bedding was clean and comfy. But only two pillows are provided not 4. One of the towels had orange stains on it .
The cleaning could be better as I found the counter tops still stained with glass or can marks . Clearly showing the counter tops were not wiped down. The floor had hair and there was dirt in some corners.
The downside of this room is that it gets a lot of condensed. So on returning the floor would have moisture and condensation on it. It was just so annoying.
Other than that it’s in a super convenient location.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel staff were warm and professional. The front desk attendant was particularly helpful; we were a group hoping to stay on the same floor, and he really went out of his way to accommodate us. What truly stands out is finding such a reasonably priced hotel in a place like Hong Kong, where space is at a premium – it's truly a rare find! I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hong Kong. Plus, it's conveniently located right next to Tuen Mun MTR Station, which is a terminal station, making it easy to get anywhere. There's also a Light Rail stop nearby, and multiple bus routes just below the MTR station. It's convenient, affordable, and offers great value for money! 👍👍👍
GGuest UserWe had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. My husband and I stayed in one room, while my parents stayed in another.
The bathroom and shower were very clean and comfortable. The view is definitely better on the higher floors — my parents stayed on the 31st floor and had a lovely view, while our room on the 12th floor didn’t have much of a view, but honestly, we were mostly there just to sleep.
There was bottled water in the room upon arrival, but when we asked for more the next day, we were told to get it from the gym. Also, the cone-shaped paper cups in the gym were not very practical — that could be improved. On the positive side, the hotel has a gym for those interested.
The location is very convenient. We used the tram frequently to explore Hong Kong, and it’s very close to the hotel. There is also a shopping mall nearby, plenty of places to eat, and a supermarket right across the street.
The room overall was nice. There was a slight humidity smell, but that seems to be common in Hong Kong. Keeping the air conditioning on helps a lot.
It would be great if the hotel had universal power outlets.
Greetings from Turkey — Turkish guests would definitely enjoy staying at this hotel.
Rruowen118The hotel is a bit far from popular attractions like Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay. A HKD 500 deposit is required upon check-in, and they accept RMB. There's a McDonald's, a 'cha chaan teng' (local cafe), and a convenience store nearby, so food options are pretty convenient. There's also a bus stop right outside the hotel; you can take 4 stops to reach Wong Chuk Hang MTR station. Although the room is a bit small, it's very clean. Overall, it's still quite good.
LLuna Blanca Ysmeralda⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a great stay at Venetian Hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui! The location is honestly one of the best things about it — it’s right in the center of everything in TST. There are so many food places just outside the building, so finding something to eat was never a problem.
The MTR is also very convenient, only about a 2-minute walk from TST Station Exit D2, which made commuting around Hong Kong super easy. If you’re coming from the airport by bus, you can simply stop at bus stop #14 (Mirador Mansion), which is very close to the hostel.
Another thing we appreciated was the housekeeping. They collect the trash every day, so when we came back our bins were already clean. They also changed our bedsheets and towels even though we didn’t request it, which was a really nice touch.
Just a small tip: they sometimes offer room upgrades when you arrive, but you can always say NO if you want to stick with your budget.
We stayed on the 13th floor, and that floor has a free water refilling station (which the other floors don’t have), so that was a big plus for us.
The only downside is that the elevator in the building can be very slow, especially during busy hours. But overall, the stay was comfortable, clean, and very convenient. Great option if you’re looking for a budget place in TST!
KKKingThe hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Prince Edward MTR Station. The lobby is on the third floor. The room size is decent; I could open my 26-inch suitcase flat. The bedding was quite clean and tidy, and the washroom area had a good wet/dry separation. As is common in Hong Kong, disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and slippers are not provided, so remember to bring your own.
HHoneyFlyOur room is big only two people stay but i think it can fit 4 on it the see view is amazing its just that they don’t gice complementary WATER its my first time staying at the hotel that didn’t give Water 😅 location is a little far because its sea side hotel but they has service shuttle so overall its a nice Hotel and Stay
GGuest UserMy teacher mentioned that the location is indeed valuable, and the in-room facilities aren't as bad as I imagined. However, there's a critical flaw: a complete lack of security. There's no secure entrance, or you could even say there's no real door at all. People can just walk in and out of the building freely. When I returned around 11 PM and left around 6 AM, the entrance was always wide open – not even a pretense of security. What's worse, all the sliding doors leading to the rooms upstairs are also unlocked. A random passerby could literally walk all the way up and stand right outside your room door. If you're a woman traveling alone, absolutely do not stay here.
Then there's the dampness, which seems to be an inherent issue with the building's structure. It's not the kind of extreme dampness where water drips, but the moment you walk in, the air feels incredibly stagnant, with poor ventilation. The air conditioner is right above the bed, and since it's still early in the year, the weather isn't too hot yet. I can't imagine how unbearable it would be in the summer.
I was assigned the smallest room on the entire floor, and it honestly felt no different from a prison cell. The bed was right up against the balcony door, making it incredibly noisy – much louder than I expected. I consider myself quite tolerant of noise, but here, it was noisy both inside and outside. When a group of college students stayed, I didn't get any sleep all night.
Unless you truly have no other option, seriously, don't stay here.
GGuest UserThe room has a TV and two beds, with a sea view overlooking the harbor. There's a convenient shuttle bus for getting around. Downstairs, there's a shopping mall where you can grab a delicious breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay!
